And the worst result we could've gotten with that lineup in OT, is the same result we got with tonight's lineup. So what's your argument? That I would've picked the worst 3 players? Interesting. My argument is Tmac is TERRIBLE at balancing lines, and I have years of Sharks and Oilers evidence to prove it..... Not to mention his genius work here over the last few years, including tonight.
Sure.

Sorry everyone. I taunted the Hockey Gods after regulation. Texted my friend, " 22 & 33, You know you want to Todd".

Cal played well. Gives me heartburn, but only let 2 in, in regulation.

Life is just that much more difficult when you aren't getting clean breaks.

Doughty is still good defensively, but he's starting to show his age this year.

You can see it in the way he moves. He looks old out there.

It doesn't matter to Todd though. In his view, Doughty should play 26+ minutes per night. He currently leads the NHL in total TOI by a wide margin.

Age, effectiveness, analytics be damned.

40+ games last year without him in the lineup didn't demonstrate anything to Todd apparently.

Just keep playing him a near half hour per game. That's the smart thing to do.

Anybody that doesn't see this needs their NHL fan card REVOKED. Todd is a PATHETIC coach, and we all should be calling for his head. Bring signs to the game, message the org etc. He is holding the team back. It's him and not Sturm, who should be coaching in the AHL. He's great with kids, but holds vets back.

His shot in OT looked old and tired .

So many issues on this team. Tons of talent and potential, but going nowhere fast under TMac and Blake.
I wouldn't throw Blake under the bus with Todd just yet. A great GM doesn't just make the tough decisions with the roster, but also with the coaching staff. We'll see how married to Todd he is soon enough..

You sound like a fan who just purchased a really expensive custom jersey then decided it was a great idea to throw it on the ice because your team lost a game.

I'm talking OT. They are so clueless playing together, they don't know there they are and just give the puck away. Fiala did it along the boards and it was game over.
The OT goal was 100% on Walker being an idiot . Fiala didn't "just give the puck away" because he never had full possession of it at any point. He was in a 1-on-1 then 1-on-2 battle for possession along the boards from the point Arvidsson threw it around behind the net. Walker not only got himself below his man (Eberle), but he got himself below Fiala AND even the puck once Schultz had full possession of it. That is textbook idiocy on Walker's part.

Yeah terrible play by Walker there. And I thought RV played the 2 on 1 pretty well.

Also didn’t help that Petersen’s 5 hole is big enough to drive a battleship through sideways. For a big guy he sure seems small in net.

The continued inability to win against Pacific teams--you know, the ones you play several times and actually scout you instead of a one-off on the east coast in November--is the clearest indication of the biggest criticisms of TM.

I'm so over it I don't even want to post anymore. The repetition at this point is feeling like the last days of Terry Murray.

Blake is also responsible. The roster construction is baffling to me. Why is he getting a pass but TM gets pitted?

I've seen plenty of people ripping Blake all year honestly but I think he gets a little bit of a pass because this is his first really 'hard' year and I'm willing to see that out as well as some of the prospects and how they're handled this year. I think his patience is starting to hurt the team as the roster issues from the last couple of years are STILL the roster issues (LHD, goaltending pipeline) and have actually gotten WORSE with the departure of Maatta, aging of quick, probable leave of Parik, etc.

But TM is undercutting all of that first with continual braindead roster usage and deployment. So I think it's fair to at least call it chicken-and-egg.

If Mikey Anderson goes down, your best LHD is a zombie Alex Edler. Or maybe Bjornfot, but TM would probably play Spence on his wrong side before that.

If Quick goes down, you're left praying Copley and Petersen keep you afloat while VilLOLta tries to hold down the fort in the AHL with zero help on the way.
