Doing a player "refresh" has bought him another 2/3 years imo.

If they don't win the trash cans will be coming long before then. I'm all for giving most coaches 5 years, but his style of play is exhausting.

I hope someone is putting a video archive of his press conferences together because this will likely be his last gig. He's too much into his farm to move away, I think.

Lucic on the second line and Coleman on the 4th are definitely interesting. Ruzicka was borderling waiver fodder before last week, and now is top line. I get Daryl putting Hueby on the 3rd line (I like the idea of him with Backlund for the Flames) but if you are doing that to send a message put Coleman on the top and keep Ruzicka down.

All the above is my way of saying I doubt these lines will be in tack throughout the whole night

I've always said it's the personnel, it's the drama queens around here that were convinced it was the doings of the mad scientist, Marco Sturm.
Some said it was Sturm, but most people knew it was deployment issues. Also, anytime someone suggested they change the personnel on the PP, you would say "oh, you think you know more than an NHL coach?", so don't act like you're above it all.

Axl, isn't Todd responsible for the personnel decisions?
it's not about just plugging this guy in for that guy -- it's about overall skill level to execute. Now, adding Fiala should help, but I think they tried just about everything last year and nothing seemed to work. You dumped the coach who everyone thought was responsible and here we are with minimal improvement. But I couldn't give a shit, just keep winning.

Are u implying he wasnt responsible for the personnel?

Apparently the powerplay is the fault of the players.

But when you mention management and coaching not bringing in the right players... "if you're so good why don't you just coach and GM then?"

So, it's apparently the players' fault for being put out in the units, being on the team, and for failing to execute.

And trying to decipher what that old coot is mumbling on about is probably annoying too

I didn’t really understand any of that, sorry. What exactly would you like to do, fire Hiller now?

the league is better with Sutter in it, but I agree this will be his last stop.

I think the both Sturm and Hiller are afraid to move either DD or Kopi off of PP1.. thats what should be tried at least as an experiment.. But that glass ceiling of the cup legends dictates alot of non winning philosophy on this team.
