I’d definitely keep IA and instead trade Arvi. AI is valuable providing something we don’t have much of. He also can do so in the 3rd or 4th line. Yeah he might be slightly overpaid. But he’s an asset to this team. Arvi is not - especially now with two new added goal scorers (GV and Fiala).
I agree that Arvi is the most expendable - and in addition we have scoring wings in the pipe like Fagemo and Chromiak that would be cheaper replacements. If it came down to keeping Moore or AI, id take Moore - he has more creativity to his game. Grundstrom can slot in as a cheaper replacement for that kind of player if necessary.

How about that Kempe regression? 6 goals in 10 games, on pace for 40+.

Also, what happened to @Herby? Figured he'd be happy that Clarke is going to stay up as he was certain the horrible Kings management would send him back to juniors.
Well his take on both has proven to be ridiculous so far. Writing off Vilardi only because of his D+ status was really a laughable reach.

In a related note - once both Kempe and Vilardi were moved to wing, it wasnt long before they started to produce. Center really is a much tougher position - faceoff responsibility (burns energy).. more chasing style defensive responsibility (burns a lot of energy covering one of the forwards down low), more skating required to get into the o-zone (starting lower in the D-zone 9/10 times). Vilardi has the play making style of a center, but he doesnt have the wheels. I think it was wise to move him to wing. So maybe Vilardi's late development was due to this but give Kings credit for moving him to wing.

Kids these days have weak immune systems. Nothing like grandpa's old cough syrup to do the trick.

Kempe is shooting 22%, way up over last year's 14%, which was reasonably up on his career average.

Let's not pretend Kempe is going to score 50 this year, and Vilardi isn't going to score 57, but especially not both.

Small sample sizes for "I told you so"s are fun though, I guess.
But pointing out years of past behavior and results is overreacting.

I don't think he'll score 50, but the Kings in general this year are trying to make stuff happen rather than just fling the puck at the net from distance looking for rebounds. They've essentially added two highly skilled forwards in Fiala and Vilardi, so teams can't just collapse in the slot on point shots and shut us down anymore.

I wouldn't be surprised if the team as a whole ends up with higher s% this year, if that's even a stat that's tracked.

f*** you vilardi is gonna score 70 you can take that to the bank

So, I was out of town at an event and missed the game. I only need to know how Cal looked. Is there cause of cautious optimism?

I would say whatever you felt, feel free to uphold it. One game alone shouldn't change your mind one way or another.

He bailed the team out with some timely saves, but the Tavares goal was bad, in my opinion.

Well this is it. I like both players and always said that I thought Kempe would maintain his goal scoring but crowing about it after 10 games is more than a little premature. My point was always the fundamental changes to how he was playing, not just his s%. I’ve said elsewhere my views on Vilardi.

I also said a while ago that Arvi should be one of the players we maybe move during the season if scoring emerges elsewhere. However that doesn’t mean I advocate dumping on him because he’s a decent player that is coming of an injury that takes a bit of time to get fully comfortable with. The reason you move him is due to emergence of young players, not because he sucks. I also had the same view with AI but seeing the chemistry with QB I’d definitely hold fire on that right now.

I’m not sure how the re-sign Moore with all the other cap considerations but it’s way too early to worry about it. His chemistry with Danault means there is a 0% chance of him being moved whilst we are in the play-off race.

Durzi, yep I’m not his biggest fan but the reason to move him is if you have a trade for the correct LHD in the works. Not for a 2nd round pick, not for the sake of it.

Walker, best case is that someone gives a low pick or he gets claimed at some point on waivers. He’s not a bad player but I don’t see the fit any longer b

played pretty well...1st goal against was questionable....and they did hit a couple posts. Still not playing like he'd steal a game for us though.
Posts are a ‘so what’… it’s an off target shot. It may as well hit the corner.

I thought he made enough big saves to get some credit for the win, but it’s just one game.

Moore seems like the type to take a hometown discount... Until another team flashes a sexy offer in front of him

Hmm, I see it different. Posts indicate the goalie was beat and that shot just millimeters away from being a goal.

They don't call a post the 'goalies best friend' for nothing.

Lmaooooooo Cals first decent game and Axl decides to go “I told you so”. Where were you the other games lmaoooo
Nope, I didn't predict anything....that's your job. Nostrasolmus.

Depends. Did the goalie take away all of the goal and the shooter tried to hope one in or did the goalie leave some open twine that the shooter simply missed? One is perfect goaltending and the other isn't.

It was the best Kings goaltending performance of the young season. He gave the Kings the chance to win with multiple quality - and timely - saves.
