I think the worst part of renting my suite is the fact that I don't have a garage. Despite having my car's block heater plugged in at home for the 3rd straight winters my car battery has died. It's gotten so ridiculous! Granted, the batteries I've used haven't been premium so I wonder if I should just drop a couple hundred on a better one and hopefully be done with it for a few years. Anyone have any experience with the more expensive batteries you can buy at Canadian Tire? Getting really sick of this.
I'd recommend getting a battery blanket. Cost me about $30 at bumper to bumper. Easy install, wrap it around your battery and plug it in along with your block heater. Keeps the battery warm and you won't have any problems. Bought one for my kids truck too. At the price of batteries nowadays it's a good investment.

Freezing rain 3 nights in a row. Not great. I would rather have it be -20 than this crap. f*** it, I'm wearing my snowshoes everywhere outside today...heh

Im not in Edmonton but in the area, I dealt with freezing rain 2 days ago on the yellowhead between McBride and Prince George with a lighter load, so I was in for a bit of a rodeo on those hills

So today when I got up, looked outside, n checked the weather n road conditions, I immediately called dispatch and told them Im not dealing with it today and I'll wait until this bit of weather passes by

Saw the news here and one trucker on the Henday said I'm not going an inch further, just wait out the mayhem, and emergency crews said, yep, fine, just park it, its the best thing right now. 2 nights of rain and it was apparently bedlam on the arteries this am. Warm enough during the days to turn most into slush but still some interesting intersections around town.

So its raining for hours today, again, freezing on contact, and its going down to -20 by tomorrow basically ensuring that everything is a skating rink for the rest of the week.

For anybody keeping count this is 4 freezing rain cycles over the last week. I preferred weather in Edmonton when it stayed cold rather than these warmer raining cycles in winter. All the sidewalks in the city are a disaster.

Can't even do anything with them now as its raining for hours.

This is like weather sponsored by Canadian Tire ice melter..

If your battery is die on a regular basis you either have a power draw or you don’t drive it enough on a daily basis to recharge the start draw.
