Laval will practice on the second ice sheet because Disney on Ice is using the main rink. Wednesday and Thursday, there will be Red vs. White scrimmages. And this weekend, Laval plays two preseason games vs. the Belleville on Saturday and Sunday.

Connor Chaulk, Cedric Montminy, Nicolas Guay, James Phelan, Alex Breton, Philippe Bureau-Blais, Bradley Johnson & Thomas Sigouin are players under ECHL contracts that will participate in this camp.

As already mentioned, Pierrick Dubé, John Parker-Jones, Miguel Tourigny & William Trudeau are invites. It also looks like they invited another goalie in Zachary Bouthillier.

Now now, I know guys like Drouin and Hoffman are pretty soft but calling it disney on ice might be a bit much !

Eric Bélanger and the 3R coaching staff are at the Laval practice today. Aside from the ECHL contracted players, there will be a bunch of AHL contracted players who will be in 3R to start the year.

Houle says the coaching staff will select the captain. Marcotte mentions that for him, it should be Bourque.

Houle said they will be a younger team this year, but he feels they will be more competitive than last year. Marcotte gets the sense Houle is curious to know who among the young D will be sent to him in Laval.

Houle praises Emile Poirier. He says it's good to offer a second chance to a guy like that and that he seems ready for the challenge. He could be the ace in the hole.

Éric Bélanger, Pascal Rhéaume & MA Bergeron will be with the Laval Rocket all camp and will provide their observations. It feels like the partnership between the affiliates will be even stronger this year.

Regarding Trudeau and Tourigny. It will be interesting what the organization decides with them. They can both go back to Junior for their overage season. It wouldn't be surprising is one of them turns pro and starts in 3R.

Great update @Adam Michaels

Bourque would be my choice for Captain

Belzile is my choice because of his tenure with Laval and the organization. This will be his fourth year with the Habs/Rocket.

But if they give it to Bourque, I'll be happy and know he deserves it. A guy with a lot of experience in both NHL and AHL and gives it his all every game.

You can expect Bourque to actually be on the ice all season, that's already a plus in his favor IMO  That and he had a decent cup of coffee in the NHL ( 400+ games I believe) so he has seniority there, he's been around the block .

There's some tickets left for the home opener. With Mesar joining it's $25 well spent.

Mentioned in the Training Camp thread, but yesterday, the Habs sent down:

- Mesar
- Norlinder
- Poulin
- Simoneau
- Gignac

And placed on waivers:

- Belzile
- Richard
- Stephens

If they all clear today, they will be sent to Laval.

Mysak has decent pythons going  Not quite Hulk Hogan yet but he's definitely been going to the gym, Norlinder on the other hand still looks way too pure and innocent for this cruel world. I just want to hug the guy and tell him everything will be okay :(

Another scrimmage today, this time with the players that cleared waivers yesterday:

Aside from the guys on ECHL deals, you can see with these scrimmages who will be starting the year in 3R.

Saulnier - Stapley - Guay (Guay is on an ECHL deal)
Beauregard - Abbandonato - Francis
Montminy - Phelan (both are on ECHL deals)

Teasdale - Hillis - Dubé (Teasdale will stay in Laval, but I think Hillis will be sent down. And Dubé is looked to see if he'll at least earn an AHL deal, but he will start in 3R)

Galipeau - Johnson (Johnson is on an ECHL deal)
Breton - Tourigny (Breton is on an ECHL deal. If Tourigny will get signed, I see him starting in 3R)
Bureau-Blais - Centorame (Bureau-Blais is on an ECHL deal)
Fairbrother - Parker-Jones (Fairbrother will stay in Laval. But like Dubé, they're trying to see if Parker-Jones can do enough to get an AHL deal, but he will start in 3R)
