im surprised to see Casey & Mintyukov so high on the 2 lists so far today ... not because they dont deserve it necessarily but more that these 2 have been constantly under the radar and not really glowing in the NHL currently.

Mintyukov is having a particularly difficult season between some poor execution and even worse coaching/deployment.

Casey not in NHL and no clear path anytime soon.

What has brought them to that level, just a poor draft?

I don’t think he was ever a Calder fave, can you cite some sources on that?

He did have a a good start but he wasn’t even expected to be on the team.

Credit for his success so far, no question on that.

Still so early but Isaiah George definitely jumps base on his early NHL play and original draft position.

Well we should have waited 3 more years since we will probably be even bigger winners... Owen Beck and Adam Engstrom are probably the 2 best players on our AHL team, both 2022 draftee.

being sent down doesn't mean that he wasn't a favorite at the time.
