I really loved the signing but I didn't think he would have such improved control. His problem has been living in the strike zone too much as he gets ahead and then gives up a homer.

Whatever the Jays do with pitchers is awesome. If they acquire a pitcher and he doesn't improve then I am confident giving him up because they rarely do better.
