It’s more expensive than I expected, but you get 26% of the price as a tax credit. I just started talking to companies to see what the deal was.

Thanks. The financials are likely to be pretty wonky for me. Not only am I paying Canadian taxes but Quebec taxes, which from my little bit of investigating, don't offer much of anything as incentives since we have so much hydroelectric power. I just double-checked to make sure I wasn't talking out of my ... hat and the Hydro-Quebec document indicates that individuals can submit an application to connect to the power grid for sharing of excess generated electricity, with authorization by an electrician of course, but get no compensation whatsoever.

Hindsight is 20/20, Patrick was dominant as a 17 year old, checked all the boxes, the big two way center every team loves.
This may be a Lindros scenario where concussions cut short a career, unfortunately we never got the 4-5 top seasons before the player became unglued.

yes Makar was also a clear cut number 1 defensemen. Who I’m pretty sure our scouts put number 1. But hextall over ruled for Patrick. Provorov-Makar would be insane.
Or Pettersson / Couturier / Hayes / Frost down the middle would be the best Center depth in the NHL. Probably would not have signed Hayes in that case. Leaving 7M for a top D man. But it is what it is now! Really rooting for Frost to be a top 6 forward for us.

I remember one year when I was living in Gatineau and working in Ottawa.

Got quite the sticker shock at tax time. $4500.
I would have gotten a refund if I lived in Ontario.

Moved to Ontario the next month lol.

I did find it interesting that Charlie tweeted they wanted a passer qbing the top unit rather than a guy who shoots more (referring to ghost here). Found that kinda odd…I just really doubt that was the reason ghost wasn’t on the top unit

Nothing says plus passer like.....

Their use of Provorov is one of the best indicators that these people are completely braindead at player evaluation. They're delusional.
I am excited to see how prov does this year tho. He should be more free to play his style now that ellis is here. Rather have just ellis on pp2 but hopefully they fix that when hayes is back

Well, I don't think that's true unless AV radically changes the system. Provorov is at his best on the rush. YOLO-bombing the puck out of the zone and trying to establish a cycle off a dump isn't his strength.

I expect a system similar to the first year with AV. More puck movement and less alley oop to the neutral zone. I hope I’m right. Trying to find the positives in things I think lol. I just wish he wouldn’t distribute the minutes so evenly. I get it in games we are winning but I don’t want to see the 4th line 10-13 min a game

Provorov will never come off PP1 because he has the big contract…. Comes off PP1 for a guy making 900k.

Yeah it is different here. Power companies buy back the power you generate. You could get batteries if you're going for the full off grid set up, but then it gets even more expensive

Interestingly, on the PP over the same period he had 1.27 First Assists/60, compared to 0.85 for Ghost and 0.67 for Sanheim.

You don’t get assists if the unit doesn’t score goals, and assists generally are teammate dependent and prone to fluctuation to begin with. Passing data is probably a better indicator in small sample.

He’s been primarily on PP1 the last couple seasons. We did this already last season, where we went back and watched every single assist. They’re just nothing pitch and catch passes into non-scoring areas, amidst stationary left-center blue line shots. It’s not like the unit generates much in xGF. His absurdly unsustainable shot was the reason he received PP1 usage. Lo and behold…..

I think 3 years of larger sample 5v5 numbers (almost 4000 minutes!) indicates his putrid offensive zone passing well enough. He just doesn’t create many chances on that front. His first 3 years, he was the worst PP scoring defenseman in the league, but that’s also forgotten about while failing upwards on the PP. Even in the last 3 seasons, his PP assist rate is good for 47/60 among qualified defenders (300 PP minutes). Not sure that’s worth hanging your hat on.

Couturier had five seasons of very low PP production to start his career. Most people managed to let that go as he started to produce consistently with the man advantage beginning in 17-18, although you do still see the odd Get Coots off the PP take.

I’m happy to see Yandle move him back on the depth chart but we can’t just make excuses for every PPP he’s put on the board. The distinction between PP1 and 2 has been murky the past couple of years with Konency and Niskanen while he was here being the best PPP/60 performers followed by G, then a drop down to Provorov, Couturier and Voracek.

Between researching a new car that fits my 3 f***ing kids, solar panels, and the latest fortnite tips and tricks, I don’t have time to research Pokémon.

I want my son to have the same Pokémon yellow on game boy experience I had. He loves that shit
I assume you're trying to not go the minivan route if you're researching to find something? I just recently upgraded to a Sequoia from a 4Runner for more room. Been loving it so far.

Well, that PP2 the Flyers ran during those seasons might be the most talent deprived unit I've seen on a bubble team. I don't have to flaunt my Couturier Fan credentials, but saying Couturier isn't bad on the PP as a complimentary guy is still a bit different than calling him good. I'd call him a pretty average PP1 4th/5th guy, which is fine. We'll see how he does in Voracek's spot. I think Konecny's PP scoring is a red flag about the PP's mangling, considering he's historically a bit lacking there.

I don't think Provorov is incapable of points because usage almost guarantees some scoring. I think his 5v5 numbers are due for a positive bump, just like they were due for a negative one after his first 2 seasons. But he's simply not much of a playmaker -- eyes and numbers align there. I think the excuses work more in favor of explaining some of his usage than the other way around. Important note: opportunity cost when ~8 forwards play PP compared to 2 defenders.

Sanheim is even worse than Provy as a PP point man.
Yeah, I can understand replacing Provy with a forward on the PP, but Sanheim hasn't done anything on the PP to convince that he belongs there. At least Provy has a good shot.

Yandle and York are the defensemen on the team I would definitely put on the PP, but York probably won't make the team, so there aren't many PP specialists to choose from.
