For me, this has to be one of the weakest Team Russia since the times of Maxim Sokolov and Igor Podomatsky.
Speaking of Sokolov, is there any final conclusion in his family's tragedy? For me, this has to be one of the weakest Team Russia since the times of Maxim Sokolov and Igor Podomatsky.
No, not officially confirmed, but he is negotiating a new contract currently.
Happy that I was wrong

Thanks, but a which one? The older one was a prime suspect first, and then i heard a story that the younger one was a suspect. And then the whole news story went away. Very sad case anyway. His kid was judged legally insane and ordered to a psychiatric hospital.

Im from Finland, so i only know few Russian words. But i used google translator, thanks for a link.I assume you speak russian, as you know this story:
Следователи установили настоящего убийцу жены российского хоккеиста Соколова: Следствие и суд: Силовые структуры: Lenta.ru
What about Panarin, is he still alive? Did Wilson kill him or Putin doesn't want him there?
Well that's no humor, his personal reason was basically Putin so..What a witty humor ... Panarin refused for personal reasons.
Meh, it was obvious from the start - star players won’t play in this year’s tournament.Well that's no humor, his personal reason was basically Putin so..
So right now something like:
Barabanov - Grigorenko - Burdasov
Kuzmenko - Shalunov - Okulov
Tolchinsky - Zernov - Slepyshev
Marchenko - Morozov - Podkolzin
Voronkov - Kraskovsky - Galimov
Provorov - Zub
Gavrikov - Zadarov
Nesterov - Yakolev
Ozhiganov - Yudin
Dronov - Naumenkov
Georgiev
Samonov
Bocharov
Well if anything, Russian stars were always more willing to play in the WC than those from any other country. It's just that at the same time, Swedes and Finns have done with more. Only times Russia has won was with absolutely stacked teams.Over recent years, lineups like the one above have created interest in the WC in the most surprising of all places - Canada. They simply see an easy kill and a chance to wave the flag while flashing the Gold Medals around their necks. It is always possible that Sweden or Finland could put together good teams, but for Russia, Russian NHL players are becoming incredibly creative in thinking of a million plus reasons why they can't represent their (maybe former) country!
I didn't see Team Russians EHT games. What kind of PP1 and PP2 units were against Finland and Sweden? Thanks for answers![]()
