- The first 10 players will likely be drafted with maybe Jesper Wallstedt swapped out for Chaz Lucius. That leaves the NYR:
10 Chaz Lucius, 11 Cole Sillinger, 13 Matthew Coronato, 14 Fabian Lysell, 15 Sebastian Cossa, 16 Brennan Othmann and 17 Fedor Svechkov within the #15 range. If we keep the pick, out of the players left in that range my preference would be; Svechkov, Sillinger, Coronato (is an Islanders fan), Lucius, Cossa, Lysell. The player I really think the NYR should draft is Zachary L’Heureux. Trade down and pick up a 2nd. He is everything the NYR lack and want. Good skill, good skating, good scorer, good shot, playmaker, good D player, good IQ, great CORSI stats, work ethic, hard nosed player, grit, PITA to play against, will fight and will stick up for his team mates. Plays C and W. Knowing GMCD dislike of players like Sean Avery, I don't know if he has the balls to pick a player of that ilk, but he fits all of our needs.
If we get a second, and with picks in the 3rd and lower rounds, players we might draft are: Tyler Boucher, Zach Dean, Wyatt Johnston, Tristan Broz, Samuel Helenius, Oliver Kapanen, Alexander Kisakov, Samu Salminen, Brett Harrison, Colton Dach, Ryan Winterton, Matthew Knies, Josh Doan, Redmond Savage, Zack Ostapchuk.
LGR. Any thoughts?
