Draft 2021 NHL Draft and Undrafted Free Agent Thread

Personal wishlist update:

#1 Lucius - potential top 6 offensive C
#2 Svechkov - potential top 9 two-way C
#3 Räty - but there is such a big ??? here. Could be a wasted pick.
#4 Bourgault* - but is he a center? looks mad on tape though, imo
#5 Pinelli - seems to have played mainly on the wing in Slovenia

if we keep the pick, i'm cool with standing pat at 15. Not really excited about anyone in this draft especially in the range we'll be picking.
 
Pinelli is a name that has intrigued me quite a bit. I don't think anything is ever absolute, so I tend to lean towards BPA, but I hope they can find the right Center to take their shot on at 15. Or trade up to get one if they need. We seriously need to add to the franchise depth.

Svechkov is the guy I'm most hoping for right now that seems plausible though.

My guess is he goes in the 2nd. If NYR were to grab a 2nd somehow, he, Poltapov, and Samuel Helenius are my two wants. Maybe even a Zellweger or early selection of Red Savage/Josh Doan/Dylan Duke.

I know this is a pipe dream but would love to see Drury wheel and deal.

In the U.S. the Seattle Expansion Draft will be aired on Wednesday, July 21st at 8:00 P.M. Eastern Time o ESPN 2 then on Friday, July 23rd at 8:00 P.M. the 1st round of the 2021 NHL Draft will be broadcasted also on ESPN 2 in the U.S.
Does anyone know if the NHL Network can be purchased without having cable or satellite service? Saturday’s 2nd through 7th round will be aired there in the U.S.

I do the Strome deal; the Buchnevich deal, probably not.

The flipping of firsts and seconds is just crazy.

I had Fubo for a minute but not all their content is 1080p so I dropped it. Love the concept of it though.

I'm a believer that Raty just had an all-around bad season, but yeah... not a good look. Would love to hear what Bob has to say!

how will they do this as an event, or a draft?
no less than 10 hours earlier, Seattle will have delivered their list of Expansion Draft selections to the league ...

this is reminding me of how, in the '60's on the radio, Win Elliott would recreate play of remote NYR games from ticker tape
 
They’ve slotted 90 minutes from 8:00 P.M. to 9:30 P.M. Eastern Time (5:00 - 6:30 P.M. Pacific) Channel 301 ESPN 2 on Spectrum NYC.
I would imagine ESPN will have all the graphics work and bio commentary for the show fleshed out in that window leading up to the kickoff.
Who knows this could be pre-taped?
