If we are talking healthy Eichel, I do that deal all day. However, this injury is no small thing. We have no idea if this is going to be a yearly thing he has to recover from or if surgery doesn't go as well as planned.

Not trusting a blog site...

... a similar blog site mentioned a Buch for Horvat deal that Elliotte Friedman said today on his podcast he got "scorned" for asking a VAN rep about it.

... carry on...

Don't believe bloggers when it comes to trade rumours.

Strome for 10 for Ott? That doesn't make any sense for them...like at all.

Now Strome / 15 / Buch / Jones for Eichel is very doable and makes sense from both sides. The money even matches up well. He's discounted due to injury risk, Buffalo gets young players plus cap flexibility in the next couple years, and if Eichel recovers (big if) 100% then its a Cup like center.

Just had my Draft preview episode, two really knowledgeable NHL draft analysts joined me. They give breakdowns on possible Rangers picks. Check it out!

Ok, after watching Bob McKenzie's final prospect ranking, I want McTavish badly. Said he changed his projection throughout the season to a center.

Might go top 5 though. :(

Fedor Svechkov

Quote this post with your thoughts!! Although I said multiple times that they'll trade this pick, the bold thing to do is select Svechkov with it.
At a minimum, I would take a big swing at Landeskog. He's a great leader, face of the franchise who would really be a terrific long term play for Seattle.

And as for Hyman in New York? I like that a lot. It also makes a Buchnevich trade a certainty. It's a fair trade off and would make the Rangers a tougher team to play against.

Pierre McGuire is now the senior vice-president of player development for the Ottawa Senators.
This year was my first attempt at learning the amateur part of the sport and there was an opinion last year that this year’s draft was not deep. Add to that the few games that were played and the competition for these prospects was in many cases lacking.
Though in this case it has been posted on the “Roster Building” thread that this was speculation not an actual rumor.

Fedor Svechkov

Svechkov over Lucius for me. Would be pretty stoked if that happened.

When JD came to the Rangers I thought for sure he was going to bring Malkin here. Now he’s gone but I wouldn’t be surprised if somehow someway he ended up with the Rangers.

I’m fearing some sort of a weird trade with Seattle for the 15th.

Elliotte said on his 31T yesterday that the Rangers were looking at Hyman, but they weren't getting him at 6y/$3.6M per. They then shifted focus on Goodrow.

If he goes to UFA, they might be monitoring the situation...

As to your FLA pick for Seattle - It's being reported that they are signing Dreidger, so that will be their selection.

There was a rumor that SEA is targeting someone else tonight and FLA has a trade in place for them to select Vatrano. They were going to sign Driedger regardless.

Is he more than a 3C though?

If anything he could be a 2C. Idk where that talk of a 1C pops up. Offensive touch in the NHL doesn't seem prominent, ATM. I think he is definitely a good option for a team's bottom-6 defensive depth. He can also pot some points too, but not at a rate of a 1C should.

Again, things could change and development could swing in different directions. ATM, I see him becoming a quality 3C.

Is he more than a 3C though?

Somewhat divided opinions there.

A lot of people project him as a very good third line center, others think the IQ and adaptability give him a legit shot as a second line pivot.

Almost everyone agrees he's an NHL player. The question is offensive ceiling and what options you may want to roll the dice on (or not) in the the first.

I don't think Lucius is making it to NYR's pick, but we'll see. My only other gripe with him too is if he is a center or not in the NHL. Skating isn't an issue, but not sure if it fits well in a center role.

I don't think it makes much sense for NYR to get Malkin. We'll see in FA if he gets to that point.

I don't think the trade will be with SEA, but if they do trade it'll be for an upgrade. I'm sure Drury is keeping his options open.
