I'm not going to say i'm a pro but trying to throw a football with any type of finger injury on your throwing hand sucks ass. I busted my pinky because a ball jammed on me when i was working at a drop in center and i literally couldn't put any heat on the ball because of it. Now imagine the thumb which does a good amount of supporting the ball in your hand.

Yeah McVay definitely deserves blame here. How he thought it was a good idea to have your emergency guy be the guy who is still healing from thumb surgery is just really bad logic.

If anything you dress three QBs. Bortles as your emergency so you can still throw Goff in there.
