His injuries make it incredibly tough for him to get in. Here's the Baseball Reference look at his Hall of Fame chances.

Oh I know, but if Harold Baines is a HOF'er, then Pedroia is:

Baines:

Black Ink
Batting - 3 (572), Average HOFer ≈ 27
Gray Ink
Batting - 40 (663), Average HOFer ≈ 144
Hall of Fame Monitor
Batting - 66 (313), Likely HOFer ≈ 100
Hall of Fame Standards
Batting - 44 (121), Average HOFer ≈ 50
JAWS
Right Field (74th):
38.7 career WAR / 21.4 7yr-peak WAR / 30.1 JAWS
Average HOF RF (out of 27):
71.9 career WAR / 42.4 7yr-peak WAR / 57.2 JAW
[TBODY] [/TBODY]

His numbers and accomplishments are the same as/better than Trammel, Raines, Dawson, Simmons, Lee Smith, Morris, Blyleven, Mazeroski (who's in the HOF because of 1 hit)

Still his best moment. I hope they find a way to keep him around either as a coach or on NESN. I bet he could make a hell of a color commentator when Remy retires.

My guess is, at minimum, the Sox will keep him on as an adviser and spring training coach, like they do with Papi, Pedro, Dewey, Luis, etc. It won't surprise me if he takes on a larger role, like Tek.

I don't disagree with you. As @McGarnagle points out, Pedey's numbers are on par with Doerr, who is in the Hall, too. Middle infielders generally seem to have a wider breadth for induction and their defense is given greater weight. This goes back to the conversation that we had in the previous thread, and to your point, about how induction has been watered down. Baines shouldn't be in the Hall, but his induction opens the door for so many others such as Dewey and Pedey. If Pedey is inducted, though, his speech will be a can't miss moment.

Saw on Twitter that he only used two gloves for his entire career.

I have no idea what the normal lifespan is for an MLB baseball glove, but that's gotta be some kinda record.

Random question... Are there any active plans to eventually replace Fenway (the actual ballpark, not the mod LOL) or are they trying to keep it going until it's 400 years old?
it's like asking where would they put it..... same goes as to why the Revolution haven't gotten their SSS, It's just the way the Commonwealth is compacted/constructed

Basically, the Red Sox are gonna play at Fenway until it falls down.

I kind of figured that, but it's kind of like if the U.S. Navy was still using Old Ironsides to fight battles.

I will stop picking on historical artifacts now.

John Henry has said many times he will let the NEXT owner deal with a new park

Even 10 years ago there was land in the city - now :huh:
Maybe they could move into Foxboro with the Patriots :sarcasm:

I think I remember Ellis Burks saying he used 2 per season (no idea why I remember this).

So if an OF is using 2 per season, you'd think most IF would use the same or more.

I believe Yaz used the same glove most of his career. He'd send it away to get restored, maybe Pedroia did the sane thing..

Honestly the only realistic option might be to have them play in Worcester or Foxboro for a year while they knock down and rebuild Fenway with an expanded seating capacity and more modern structural elements.

There is often discussion of the state of goaltending in the years before Rask and Thomas. There was a similar trend at 2B with the Sox. The revolving door seemed endless.
