It's great to see the young players that are unheralded make the most of their time in the AHL and really blossom. I've followed Zetterlund since he was first drafted and he's really come a long way. Since you are new to the NJ franchise I'll offer something that might surprise you as a loyal Utica watcher. Until he hurt his knee a few seasons ago Talvitie was trending significantly better than Zetterlund.

Thanks for the info on Talvitie, but I was aware of it. I do know how to check out the players' pasts. LOL

Can you or anyone who watches Utica regularly tell how Aarne has been? Is there any 4th line potential in the future? Is his compete level still top notch? Is he still strong like an ox on skates despite his average size?

Please give me hope. :help:

In my most unbiased and honest opinion Aarne is relegated to an AHL career. He is not strong like an ox neither on his skates nor in the corners nor along the boards. He is knocked down a lot and is behind the kids in speed. I think that knee has never come back to what it was. When the Comets are healthy, he is the 4th line C or RW. Hard to see a 4th line AHL player challenging for a role in the NHL.

Really like the guy and his all out effort, but he is what he is.

The guys is all effort and a great player to have on the Comets, but I think he is an AHL career guy.

Comets consistently giving up passing lanes in their own zone. There is always a man available for a pass.

3 on 1 for the Comets and the save is made on the Holtz shot.

OK from the RW boards. Seeing eye above the far pad and keeper din't see it.

Chronic slow LM offside whistle when the Comets enter the O-zone. 3 times now the whistle has come after the blueline was passed and a pass was received halfway into the zone. It's like he has to think about the offside rule.

Comets keep flubbing the puck on the rush resulting in the Crunch coming back with speed.

A couple minutes ago the Comets were streaking for a 3 on 2 break ,but Talvitie's pass out of the zone was turned over 10 ft away at his own blueline.

Delayed penalty coming and the Comets do nothing with the 6 on 5.

Comets to the PP.

TV TO 5:51 to go in the 1st.

Comets play 4 on 4 like they are down 5 on 4. Cannot for the life of me figure out why that's so.

Gambardella can't pull the trigger from the doorstep with an open net and Riley Nash backcheck broke it up as the shot was being released.

Comets survive a short handed 2 on 1.

Then the Comets come back 3 on 1 and Schmelzer is stopped.

If the Comets could pass the puck to a mate's stick they would be unbelievable, but their passing just sucks.
