Very unlikely. What is happening is basically all the playoff teams are feasting on the lesser teams. The Kings are in the middle of a stretch against mostly decent teams that ends next Wednesday vs Colorado. Are we gonna miss the playoffs? We might miss the playoffs. Edmonton and Vegas aren’t losing games…
Teams they should beat…like Seattle.Very unlikely. What is happening is basically all the playoff teams are feasting on the lesser teams. The Kings are in the middle of a stretch against mostly decent teams that ends next Wednesday vs Colorado.
After that the Kings play a bunch of mostly bad teams that they should be able to beat.
Life’s greatest mysteryEvery single person in our organization blows Kopitar so much… what the hell does his wife do when she wants a new purse. I just don’t get it?
Arvidsson is a no brainer to have out there - he's creative and gets shots off quickly. Iafallo is not a PP1 guy in the NHL - prob not the KHL. Arvy can toe drag and get shots off where Iafallo would shoot in shins, dump in the corner or pass back to the point. You either have Danault or Kopi but not both. Vilardi is the kind of guy that would do well on a PP.. his ability to make moves and passes in tight spaces is really useful on a PP.This team needs to drastically overhaul everything about the PP. I love Moore and Danault but they are better ES players than PP players, Iafallo out there continues to be inexcusable. You just need guys who can fire the puck passed the goaltender, the Kings have 3 guys who can do that and don’t use two of them even in an extra attacker situation.

That game was more valuable for the 3rd line--even their mistakes--than some soft end of season AHL games would be.Quinton needs to go back to the Reign. Get an adult stick and add bulk and muscle.
He looks 6'5" and 190. Quick hands, quick feet and plays smaller than Lizotte.
That's a huge problem.
Jack Adams, baby.Hopefully some of you guys had a reality check today “bro Mclellan is good look at the standings”
Insufferable

That line played really well tonight. One mistake in the offensive zone turned into a goal against vs one of the top lines in the league. That game was more valuable for the 3rd line--even their mistakes--than some soft end of season AHL games would be.

Otherwise they were grinding away. The next step is turning their possession into goals.
Dont you think the easiest way to get more scoring is to improve the near league worst PP? 5x5 the team is doing decent.. my guess is the main difference re scoring between Kings and CGY is 17% vs 24% on the PP.The problem is we have been saying that for awhile now, and it just isn't happening. I agree they had a pretty solid game possessing the puck (other than Gabe's awful turnover) but the Kings don't have a Matthews, Gaudreau or McDavid who is going to score enough to make up for lack of production from that line. They need those guys to start producing atleast semi-regularly. Like my previous post said, score 3 goals and this team is going to win most nights, and right now they need to figure out a way to get to 3 goals more than 48% of the time, and getting production from that line (whoever is on it) is probably the key.
Yea the Kings need that kind of scorer and have the assets to acquire one. They just always seem to run a system that doesnt cater to that style of player. The problem is we have been saying that for awhile now, and it just isn't happening. Good points. The Kings don't value the type of player that is going to give you a Top 10 PP. Not in drafts, not in trades and really not in free agency either (although some of that might not be from trying). No matter what they do, who they send out or how Sturm sets things up there is still a Jimmy and Joe's element that is going to dwarf the X's and O's. Look at every team who has a Top 10 PP, other than maybe St. Louis they all star offensive players. The Kings have no one who even resembles a star in their lineup.
The Kings have to win by getting goals throughout the lineup. The fourth line has done their part getting even 30 combined from Arty, Lizotte and Lemieux has been huge. They need to start getting some from the third line if they are going to win more games vs good teams.

This is a good game to acknowledge that Kevin Fiala and Filip Forsberg are still unsigned with their respective clubs.
Would be f***ing beautiful to add either of them in the off-season.
This isn’t a sutter problem. This is a mclellan problem
