I fist pumped that Danault shot block as hard as I did almost any playoff goal, what a gutsy performance, glad they made that Seattle game the aberration stinker it was and just took care of business vs. their actual peers.

Get home, get healthy, get away from Canada reffing, and get the lunch pails ready for Calgary again on Monday.

What a f***ing trip. All heart, this team is going to be a HUGE pain in the ass for ANYONE in round 1.

1st line looked alive again, Kopitar was eating passing lanes like hungry hungry hippos, Kempe gutting it out all over the ice and nearly scored the goal of the year for the dagger, Iafallo making lots of saavy little plays.

Not much more to be said about the Danault line, just casually going about being the best two-way line in the league outside arguably bergeron-marchand-pastrnak

Third line was guts tonight, pushing the forecheck in hard, making a bloody mess of things, Vilardi constantly taking on two guys on teh boards and winning, drawing calls. These games are MOST valuable for this line more than just about anyone else.

Fourth line...up and down. Bless them, all work. Grundstrom went hard. Andersson made some good plays as well, but was a little out of his depth at C tonight. They miss Lizotte and Lemeiux here bigtime.

Durzi is a riverboat gambler and makes every game so much fun, lol. Another casual 26 minutes making a difference, including 5 freakin minutes of PK time (Edler with 6). Spence looks massive too, the guy just makes the breakout look so easy.

Cal...what can we say. Made a lot of really hard saves look really easy tonight. WPG really did have a ton of dangerous scoring chances in front especially and he held on strong.

Wheeler-Ehlers-Schiefele-PLD-Morrisey with over 7 friggin minutes of PP time each, glad Cal and the hockey gods told them to piss off.

With the success some have found on this team, it will be interesting to see the decisions made when underperforming injured players return back to the lineup....

I like that lineup for us.

I also think we're better off if Edmonton gets the #2 seed and we're #3. Kings are a much better road team. With the Oiler's recent playoff shortcomings, and them being the home favorite, all the pressure in the world will be on them. Kings would have nothing to lose.

I also take it as a sign they can win in different ways now, instead of just "we brought our AAA game and 70% CF% to overcome special teams and bad shooting"

Yes Dallas has games in hand but they are the most average team I've seen this year so losing those games isn't that outlandish. Keep cheering for the team until they're out officially.​

They mentioned on the broadcast that the Kings lead the NHL in puck battle wins in all situations. The coaching/development staff definitely deserves kudos for that. Every player that comes in from Ontario seems to be proficient at the very least. I don't think it's just desire and will, there's a skill to using leverage and boxing out. So whoever is teaching the players deserves a raise.

I thought I heard that too but couldn't find it again, thanks for confirming. That's an awesome stat. If there's one thing our development team always does very well, I'd say it's "basic NHL skills 101", they can turn damn near anyone into a top tier checker. Never had a concern there. And it really shows up in games like this one.

Yea they are playing with heart and an intensity that has been missing for years now. Hopefully they can continue and make the post season but I am happy to be watching again regardless. Its no longer a chore and the future is looking good!
