This is the mental midget stuff we saw the last few seasons. A comeback here would go a long way towards making the playoffs while a 5-1 loss would be pretty demoralizing. Bleeding goals lately.

This team is super soft. Losing Lemieux and his presence is no small thing.

just have to get back to the basics - like after the 7 game streak they shit the bed, and gradually started playing better and better, now they are in little bit of funk again. Some of the guys were playing over there head during the 7 game streak - e.g. Iafallo - was getting off like 7 shots a game and was scoring every night, and he came back to earth. So maybe similar thing going on.

This game reminds me of the beginning of our season. Outplay and outshoot for 90% of the game. Occasionally breakdown that costs us the game…

Brown waiting to ambush Yawney in the tunnel during intermission. Hey coach, y’all got any of that ice time ‘round here?

This team needs a mental coach ASAP. One bad things happens or the team doesn't score when it should and half the team loses its goddamn mind and starts playing like a squirt team.

Scratch Brown for Athanasiou, move Kaliyev up, scratch Maatta for Strand or bring Spence up, get Chychrun already and make Tobi/Anderson rotate in and out of the lineup. At least when Durzi has bad moments he can make up for them on both ends. Those two can't

It’s funny how we all saw this losing streak coming a mile away, but holy crap has their play gone down the toilet quickly. You start to wonder about this team’s mental and testicular fortitude.

They have 1 excellent line and a solid fourth line. The first line is a below avg NHL first line and the third line might be the worst third line in the NHL. Brown needs to be Old Yeller’ed and they need to figure out what is going on with Byfield, he should not look this bad.

I know they don’t want to break up the 2nd or 4th lines, but this is not good in the present or long-term to let QB’s play crater like this. I’d like to see the lines put in the blender a bit. See if Moore or Kaliyev can do something on that 3rd line with QB.

That's the sad part. There's no good reason this third line is this bad and it's purely because of moronic coaching allowing it to be a 1-2 person line.

Athanasiou-Byfield-Kaliyev could actually be a good line, even JAD on the RW if you want to keep the 4th line as is. Or try JAD as center, let Byfield be 1st line wing.

Yup totally agree. They've managed to win some games and be 12 games over .500 but when they play bigger more skilled teams, Bostons, Tampa's etc they get smoked. Not sure they can do anything about it but said it many time playoffs is still a big IF for this team.

I think moving QB to the wing for the time being might be the best move. Right now he is a liability for the Kings as a C but I’m hesitant to send him back to Ontario because he didn’t seem to gain much of anything from spending the season there last year and he’s to important a long-term asset to risk damaging him by yo-yo’ing him up and down.

Switch him and JAD and see if things improve. JAD is probably better as a center for that line and maybe QB gains some offensive confidence, which he appears to be lacking right now.

I don't think he's a liability right now, but he's not going to look great playing exclusively with players that have negative hockey IQ or have been offensive black holes.

It's like this team saw what the Ducks did with Zegras and said "nah we don't want that"

7 F**ken hits through 2 periods. Surprised they have 7 actually.
This team needs an injection of balls a hell of a lot more than anything else.

OFC one of Browns shift-killing bad angle shots is the one that goes in. Merry f***ing Christmas Dustin.

Brown shoots the puck to the moon and of course it goes in. Gotta love it. We'll take it Brownie.
