ref didn't really want to call it either, i think he made contact around the hip and probably could've gone either way

doubt he calls it if it isn't a breakaway opp

If you're going to establish a standard stick with it

It was definitely around the hip and it was only a dramatic fall because Benn wasn't looking, wasn't expecting it, was still corralling the puck from behind and to the right as Durzi hit from the left. Ref called the theatrics, not the play.

that 2 sticks thing was a bit ridiculous and i really don't like it because a dallas player intentionally skated through byfield's stick earlier as he tried to pick it up

When Brown went down the perp threw up his hands and dropped his stick, everyone on the ice expected a penalty
