Anybody for compliments from the guys that just beat is loser behavior. Of course it's patronizing but he got asked the question.

Yeah, I certainly don't have time to hear from Ol' Stammer how his team finally got over the hump with him sitting on IR in an empty arena.

I really appreciate the effort and that was the best series we played. I truly thought they were the better team. That stupid 5-3 PK killed them. It was one of the worst officiated series I’ve ever watched. I doubt next years team can top out this one which is sad as this one equaled a 1st round exit.

That being said, results speak for themselves and honestly I don’t know what they do. Blowing it up won’t help, tinkering again will likely get us similar results. I think at this point they actually explore the market on Willy. My last attempt would be to do the bargain bin pick up’s again but target grit VS skill this year. We lacked the ability to regain energy when the offence dried

It has to be skilled grit. Clifford and Simmonds are not winning this series for us. Skilled grit is difficult to find. Fingers crossed we may see Knies at some point.

Nylander is an attractive piece, but the piece we need is probably not on the market.

Hopefully Dubas can find some more solid pieces like Bunting, Kampf and Lyb to really round out the roster next season.

Cheap depth will be key if we want to get over the hump.

Would be nice to get Robertson to take the next step or even have a kid like Knies show up at the end of the season.

Hopefully Gio comes back. Lyubushkin too.

Lilly hopefully progresses well too.

Wouldn't mind Mikeyev and Engvall on super cheap deals if doable.

Bush and Gio are must resign for the Leafs. Lilly needs to be a main stay and play the PK from pre-season.
Holl is the odd man out.
Engvall should be resign too and so is Blackwell.
Mik won’t be resign and Kerfoot should be traded for a physical and big player, hopefully a 3C.
Kase for his health, I hope he retires but if he is all good, I want him back too.

A lot of the time, there isn't a clear answer. It just is. And that's a life lesson.
What I can say is that this was one of the most exciting Leaf seasons I have witnessed. It was fun to watch. I hope we get a lucky next season.

Thank you for this thread… I can’t stand the hate being spewed in the rest of the board.

We are lucky to have this team and I look forward to next season.

go Oilers go

The Leafs had a great year and facing Tampa Bay 1st round is crazy when you finished with the 5th best record in the league. Last year Montreal didn't face them until the finals. The 1st round this year was a tough as last year's finals.

Great effort by the boys. I'm truly devastated but I couldn't be prouder of the effort. It's never easy losing but watching them leave it all out there and go balls to wall is truly admirable. I hope we keep the same core, add to it and run it back next year. I'm hurt as f*** right now, but extremely proud of the effort, just not the result we wanted. We will come back stronger

f*** the trolls, f*** the haters, GO LEAFS GO

I can’t wait till they all get their “you tried really hard” commemorative plaques.

It’s actually nauseating reading comments on here congratulating failure. The same fan base that mocks Edmonton, yet they are still playing.
W/e man.

They objectively played great. Literally a couple of bounces won TB the series. Every great player on both teams played lights out. Think it's easy beating Vas? All of our guys showed up, and all of theirs did as well. Refs f***ed us hard, but that's the reality we live in. Shit bounces and shit zebras.

Get out of here with your objectively false narration.

Fun year. So many achievements. Gonna be hard to top it next year.

Leafs fans say it best, there's always next year.

This Leafs squad was excellent. Talented forwards, a deep blueline, and a goalie who made the saves we needed him to. No doubt that the result is disappointing and feeds the narratives, but frankly I don't give a shit about the narratives any more. There will be changes to the team in the offeseason and that's expected, perhaps even a core shakeup. But I liked what I saw from the Leafs this year and if we're able to build on this I think we're in good shape.

I don't blame the folks who want to wail and gnash their teeth about this loss, but I do know that I have no interest in joining. I hope you all have fantastic summers, sharing the Leafs with you guys is half the fun.

This is a great team and obviously the greatest season I've every watched. Bad call was the most probable reason our season ended, shades of the great one high stick missed call, but ultimately we had a game 7 to do it, but we fell short against a great team.
All in all I'm not as upset as many are about another 1st round loss.
We are a Damn good team and 1 tweak away from a good cup run

I'm tired of saying it, I no longer believe it. My father will die, never seeing this team win another playoff round ever again. Then I will follow him.

Being a little older than many on here, I feel for the younger fans and I really do feel for the players. The most complete series from Toronto team in forever and still losing hurts but it is what it is.

This was a great team that just didnt get that bounce again and is going to be back in the show next year.

Even in that final game, both goalies were good finally and the Leafs outhit, outworked, out shot, outchanced, had double the blocked shots, etc...but it was the other team that got a deflection save that trickled right to a guy.

Coaching was good, goaltending was good, the stars were good and the harder working team lost in a coin flip to the 2x cup champs.

Thats NHL hockey folks.

We are a damn good regular season team but we are not 1 "tweak" away. If we were, Dubas should be fired for not making it at the TDL.

There are countless other threads you can go vent and be frustrated. This isn't the one. I think it's good to think about the fun season the Leafs brought. Not everything has to be anger in life.

If you are incapable of discussing the topic and not being completely selfish about your anger about the team, then it's ok to ignore it and go to any other relevant thread to voice how upset you are.
