Lord I cringe when I read things like this.....reminds me of when/how The U became so ordinary after ruling college football for so long.

Find that tweet and re-up it when tOSU blows them out on the order of 63-3 in December.

OK, it may not be that bad, but the Buckeyes largest margin of victory in the series is 38 points (38-0, 1935). I can't see any way they don't exceed that unless the game doesn't get played at all.

I knew Florida State would be a joke coming in to the year so no surprises there. I also knew Michigan was overrated and not a conference contender; OSU's going to do to them what that dinosaur did to Dennis Nedry in Jurassic Park.

But Penn State starting 0-4 I did not expect. I had higher expectations for them than for Michigan.

The funny thing for me is right now the two projected bowl matchups for my boys (WVU) are either vs Penn State or Michigan, either one would be "bring it on" territory for me.

This is the first time since 1955 that San Jose State is 4-0. 65 years. Black and White tv, if you were lucky to have one. Emmitt Till was murdered that year. Minimum wage was $1 an hour. That's........a REALLY long time.

On one hand, they beat 3-1 San Diego St on the road with their back up QB. On the other, their other 3 opponents are a combined 1-8.

Spartan Up!

I don't think Indiana is getting any respect, and that's fine. No one is giving them a shot against Ohio State but it could be competitive.

Ohio State always slips up in one game every year :sarcasm:

Florida State is entrenching itself in the Texas, Tennessee and Nebraska realm of fallen/irrelevant blue blood programs.
Gonna be a long time before they matter again. Probably 2-3 head coaches away.

In all honesty it goes to show you how hard it is to maintain consistent winning over decades with multiple regimes. Ohio State has repeatedly hired good coaches and rarely has off years. But even Alabama suffered for a bit before Saban took over.

You're probably right but I can't really complain. I got to watch 3 National Championships (including a wire-to-wire in 1999), many years of ACC dominance and a bowl-game streak of over 30 years. A lot of NCAA football fans would kill for that experience.

On a brighter note, where can I get one of these masks? :biglaugh:

Nah, we sucked every bit as much at the end under Coker as we did under Shannon, who is the one that prioritized character and graduation rate as much as winning. And after.

The main things that were our downfall were coaching, becoming less of a recruiting power, and generally being an offense that good QBs don't want to come to the last 15 years.

We've still had plenty of knuckleheads and bad students the last 15 years, just really average football.

I am going to watch WMU play tonite, they won that ridiculous game last week with the onside kick and fake spike TD. I watched the highlights of the game and my interest in this game is based on 1 throw I saw their QB, Kaleb Eleby make. He threw a 40 yard rope and I thought, "that was an NFL throw". He's a sophomore and was the #20 QB recruit out of HS. He may throw 5 picks for all I know, but he looked like he had a rifle.

...and he throws a pick. LOL

with 1/2 the 3rd quarter left, he is 11 for 17 with 339 yards and 4 TD with a TD run. To be fair, he threw 2-10 yard slants to a kid named Eskridge who broke them for long touchdowns. The WR may be more the NFL player than Eleby. He can scoot.

...and as I say that, Eskridge dropped a potential 65 yard touchdown, clank.

So that kid Eskridge had a game. 4 catches, over 200 yards and 3 TD's.

In 3 games, he has 14 catches, 457 yards, 6 TD's and 33 YPC. He's a 23 year old senior, but this is the 1st year he was a full time WR, he was a corner as well. Runs a sub 4.4 40.

Tulsa wins in double OT, crazy game. Tulsa tied it with a Hail Mary in regulation. Winning TD was a 95 yard INT return for a TD.

Come back was led by Tulsa's 3rd string QB
