Dominated possession .. quite a few shots are getting blocked or missing the net. No pressure in the Canada end.

He made some good passes. Canada's barely defended so it's difficult to assess anyone's defensive play.

It's interesting that Mercer scored and looked pretty good. Dudas's puck skills look the same as they did in the OHL Russia games, which isn't really a compliment.

No real chemistry to speak of for Canada thus far. It isn't surprising, but you hope to see something with Canada starting the tournament off with tough games.

Akil Thomas just isn't doing enough. His foot speed seems to be an issue and he's lacking some drive.

Definitely a candidate to be cut

The one D that imo is struggling is Byram.
McIsaac, Smith, JBD all looking steady as expected
Bahl had a giveaway leading to zone time by the Swiss in the 2nd
They may split that JBD Bahl pairing ... tbd

Going to have to see more offense out of this group

Okay. His pairing has had a rocky start but expect them to settle down. Good at defending the transition up ice but was caught out of position/outskated a few times when the Swiss were able to set up in Canada's zone.

It's a shame they aren't playing on the smaller rink, it would play into Bahl strengths much more.

Not overly concerned with chemistry at this point as this isn’t even the team due to Veleno not playing and someone being cut.

What WILL concern me is if the chemistry doesn’t come and Dale pulls a Tim from last year and continues to roll stubbornly with the same lines when it isn’t working.

I found Laf has been getting stronger... Hayton not so much.
