There's nobody else to dress. It's either him or they play with one fewer. So the fact that he's playing doesn't tell us much more than that he could conceivably take a shift. I doubt he'll get his normal ice time.

really? do they not have an extra body or two for injuries? If not that is ridiculous and the IIHF needs to change that.

They could have brought one extra player. They used that spot for a goalie (Rodrigue), which was less than ideal. Would rather have the option to drop Newhook or Krebs in. But to be fair there were big question marks about the goaltending and Rodrigue has a long history with Team Canada.

Can those that have watched Addison tell me what we have in him? I’ve caught glimpses. I assume his high end is a 3rd pairing D and PP specialist? Is this correct?
Love his stride, he is a pretty good puck distributor, there isn't much battle in the corners which may hurt him at the next level. Overall I believe he is a pretty damn good prospect. One thing that would really help him moving forward is to work on edge work and deceptiveness. It will create space with the puck in his own end.

It's a thankless job managing this team, apparently. I would have made different choices too. I might be wrong.
It is just Canada continues to use the old school coaches. I prefer a new age coach that plays a more exciting game. This was dump and chase, off the glass early 00's hockey.

Redemption complete after the Tim Hunter disaster last year.

Glad to see Hayton get gold after he got that injury.

Overall I was happy with the team the only real issue I had was that they struggled at times getting the puck out of their own zone. Other than that I liked most of the players and they played pretty well.

I guess I'm just not seeing what you see. Maybe we could do better. Have a permanent full time coach like some teams do. Do more to create chemistry like the USNDTP. The last thing I'm going to do is get worked up over player selection when everyone they bring is extremely talented (sorry, I know you can't bear some of the defense, but I think you'd hate whoever they pick). They very well might be choosing based on information you and I don't have.

It's possible, it's also how they paired the defensmen. Either way Canada wins and I'm obviously happy even if it doesn't appear that way.

My pet peeve is the way these forums go for blood when we lose. I don't know if you do that, but the constant negativity about your chosen whipping boys seems like preparation for that, if not it certainly feeds the urges others have to do it.

If they lose I typically dont comment at all. I probably won't comment on Jr hockey from a viewers standpoint until the under 18 unless i catch a Moosehead game.

The play by play ripping that I typically do is just inner amateur scout coming out. Byram and McIssac got the brunt of it because their deficiencies were with the puck and quite often. For whatever reason they didnt procees the play all that well and force plays out of their own end. Also, they both got walked in earlier games which is a massive peeve of mine, if you cant play the men one on one the pro game will be ruthless on you.

Fair enough, though it's usually pretty hyperbolic.
