I'm not calling for Fiala's head or anything. I agree with goldenbear that I'm not sure it was intentional. I just feel that this is absolving his role in an unnecessary play/hit. I stated earlier that these guys are moving so fast and making such quick decisions...things like this happen.

It’s intent because he was in control. Everything he did was intentional, it’s just the result that was unintended. It’s the same reason players get a penalty if they catch someone when carrying their stick high and cut them. Carrying the stick high is a choice as were Fiala’s actions. Everything he did was whilst in full control of his body, there was no trip, fall or stumble. He may have misjudged it, I’m happy to believe that, but he has to pay the price for a misjudged, reckless play. The real issue is the inconsistency from the league... this is a minimum benchmark IMO.
