I think Quick is still capable of playing well. I suspect he could use some better goalie coaching.

Losing the puck when he meant to freeze it is just a fluke outlier. It means nothing.

I know this will sound like I'm making excuses for him, but there's been so many games in recent years where I though he played pretty well but the stats looked like crap.

I don't think he gets to practice as much with Ranford as he used to since they changed the CBA on that shit.

I hate the road-team camera work we're seeing in the pandemic.

Would have loved to have seen the close up slow mo on this.

I don't think it's that. I just think that the issues in his game have been there for years, and they've never really been addressed.

Much respect to Patrick Marleau. Great career, played the game the right way and well respected by his peers.

Best of luck in retirement.

It's pretty crazy to think how long he played. I saw a Kings/Sharks game his rookie year which was my freshman year of HS, he had just turned 18 and I remember thinking how crazy it was that someone so close to my age was in the league. Now at the end of his career and there are only a handful of players in the league older than me. It comes at you fast. He has seen so many players, even Hall of Fame players come and go.

We talk about players from the 2003 draft getting. Marleau was drafted in 1997!

The Kings drafted Oli Jokinen 3rd overall in that draft.

pretty incredible, not even just the sheer amount of seasons, but the fact that he was only missing games here and there. sturdy.

He has a Hasek like shelf life. His entire style is built around his reflexes and vision. He's losing both as he gets older and the flaws of his glass cannon style of goal tending become more pronounced as a result. How often do you see him really do the splits anymore? And he can't explode as quickly side to side. But he's still aggressive because that's what he knows. I don't consider him the starter anymore and he shouldn't be at this point in his career anyway.
