11 guys in the line-up last night with less than a full season under their belts. Each of these guys are going to have rough patches, its just a matter of continuing to get them games so that they're more comfortable by the time we're trying to work Turcotte, Byfield, Kaliyev et. al. into the lineup.

I would rather pretend no more MacDermid in the lineup but we all have our own opinionsLet's pretend Olli Maatta is out of the lineup so we can have some fun

If they play like the second sharks game, we will win more games than we have been.Disagree only a little.
I think it's important they're not in a shitshow environment.
As long as the play is cohesive and structured like last night (to some degree--they won't play like that all the time obv), I don't care if they end up last place.
If the play is like the previous Sharks game or the Ducks game, it's fair to be worried.
Heart/effort and some semblance of structure and learning are vital.

i don't mind him as a 7 but playing him as a 4 is not acceptable. This year its easy to sit him for the first game of a series and if someone needs to be dealt with u can put him in the 2nd game. I see no need to put him in back to back games at all anything he needs to do can be done in the one game of 2 he will play. It will also let our improve pp to make them pay where it hurts the worse in the score sheetMacDermid is a perfect 7th defenseman candidate. Seems like a great locker room presence, can step in when needed, big body and great fighter when necessary. In an ideal world, he's in the press box.

I mean we're not playing him as a number four on purpose. We lost Walker and Roy and turns out Maatta is even worse than MacDermid. Once those first two come back, we should be rolling out:
Bjornfot - Doughty
Anderson - Roy
Clague - Walker
MacDermid
I see no issue with that this season to be honest.
The team took 3/4 of the season to “get” Todd’s system. Gotta give Matta some time. He seems to be playing better recently. If he keeps moving in the right direction, maybe he’s the player that goes to Seattle.I think Maatta is turning it around as well, but it boggles my mind how a cerebral defenseman like him took so long to “get it”. You’d think he’d pick it up quicker than the rookies, but that wasn’t the case. Better late than never.
I like Maatta as a person, and it is clear he cares a lot and is trying really hard. We will see, but I don't think he'll be anything but a stopgap for a couple of years while the kids get ready. He's slowly trending up, but I don't think he's having system issues. His problem is between the ears, though. He is not making good, quick, decisions and is second-guessing himself all over the place.
with all the injuries, MacD and Maatta have been getting the playing time and will have a decent number of games played. They will be the ones to fulfill the defenseman exposure requirement for the draft.
