Why did you trade Nylander and not Marner?

One makes 4m more than the other.

Nylander has 9 goals and 28 points in his last 26 games.

Becasue Marner is significantly better than Nylander, and easily wirth the 3.9M upgrade.

I believe you're mistaken on his points in last 26 games unless you're possibly including WHC.... How many points does have have in his last 26 NHL games?

But he's not.

Also WHC better than NHL regular season games and it was obvious it was an off year because he started so late.

I don't see Carolina moving Pesce for Nylander. Only way that's possible is if they start to crash, and the offence completely dries up.

yeah, those Euro teams Nylander padded his stats on were hockey powerhouses, no doubt about it. :sarcasm:

One is an elite talent and the other is turning into a support piece.
Marner would return significantly more though but it could be one of those trades that the Leafs would regret for the next 10 plus years.

Bolded doesn't sound right.

He was adding WHC numbers, which is extremely flawed.

What is ridiculous about it?

If he continues his current pace, he'll score 20 goal and 50 points.

Johnsson and Kapanen both under 3.5M after ~45 point seasons.

Doubts about his pace aside, if he does finish 20g/50 points, I guess a similar deal to Kapanen and Johnsson but with a slight bump in money is in order. Not sure about being above 4M though, but it wouldn't as ridiculous as I previously stated.
