Top ten looks to be very talented, high end players that will be fun to watch in the league.

Savoie, Ziemmer, Mateychuk, Dowhaniuk, Singleton, Gustafson, Lisowsky, Zimmer, Geekie, Levis, Flamand, Ward, Reimer are all names to watch for in top 10

There are a couple kids from the Everett team that are really good The big kid #6 Brendan Johnson and #23 Tanner Kloczko.

This looks like the handy work of Kloczko’s dad. Always trying to promote his kid beyond his ability. Average player on a AA team. Johnson legit.

I hope so. But I don't see Mateychuk getting past Brandon at 6. Elite D, late birthday and Manitoba kid might make him hard to pass up.

Only 3 weeks until the draft. Do the scouts pick the best 14/15 year olds, or do they look at development trajectory and pick the players expected to be the best at 18/19? History has shown that there is a difference. Each strategy carries risk, but the latter requires more time commitment to identify those kids under the radar. And, other than your own son, who are some of those kids?

Any players from California to look out for?

Doubtful this year. One issue is , most will not sign even if drafted, too many other options, and parents like to be close by. Of all the top 03 California players drafted last year only 1 signed and he was duel citizen. The 2 drafted are heading to USA U17 team. The California teams not not do well in Tournaments, But the other test is this weekend in Irvine at the WHL Combine.

The Calif players have alot of options and if they not ready will be stuck in no mans land. So in some ways not drafted or signing can keep the doors open for more development in the USHL, NAHL,EHL,USPHL, etc. If they are not ready to make the jump to Jrs from U16.
( if you sign with WHL team) USHL & NAHL will not touch them. EHL might thou.

I predict most picks from MB will be defense and goalies. Top 10 WPG B1AAA scorers in 17/18 had 705 points, this year only 605 (1 was a defenseman.) 17/18 had 5 goalies over .900 SV% and this year there were 10. Only 1 goalie picked from MB in 2018. This year there should be at least 3 (Buenaventura, Kieper, and Dyck) plus several defense (Mateychuk, Penner, Turner, Harris, Ruff, King, Dyck, Schaan, Thompson, Foley, Saunderson, Lathlin, etc.) What about your province?

Just joined this board. Very interesting comments . Lots of insight on what's going on here in BC and the watering down that is taking place in the ever growing money grab of "selling the dream" . Been watching the U 16 here all weekend and see quite a drop off between top players and also paids...and that drop off comes early into the line ups.

Do you think that will make Glover a first rounder? Hometown kid, 6'0", and arguably the fastest skater in MB.

As expected it was good competition there but with 11 fwds playing 20 min run time games, each fwd only got 3 shifts per period. The ones playing Center were out more as they mostly went 3 Centers and 4 sets of wingers. Hard to get any flow into the game and players that went more individualistic were rewarded. I watched most games and most of the top end kids were still the best, regardless of points - they had all the possession, etc.

That's a lot of kids and running time? That's too bad. You would think they would want to get a good look at the top kids. They really should have 3 lines a team and play regular 20 min stop time periods for something they claim to be such a big event?? 100% agree. Best part of these events is the chance the kids get to play with others they have always played against but not with. My son got to know a few kids where they have had their share of battles but laughed about it now. Also there was no combine tests which would have been more value than a practice. At U15 last year they had a combine test and they said it would be a good benchmark to compare last years test results with this years. Food was really good according to my son so that's how they can keep a 14 yr old happy! But sad to know that if you kid ends up on Team BC, parents will be in it for over $2,000 plus whatever the cost will be for the actual tournament.
