It's been getting worse steadily since around 4pm. Cleared a bit after noon (when it was darkest, street lights were even on), but it's pretty awful now.
Yeah, it did clear up around 2pm. I was hoping we’d seen the worst of it but the next time I went outside around 4pm the smoke was so thick visibility was about 2 blocks and you could see the smoke wafting in front of your face.

Anyone have bad smokeyness inside the house? not sure if turning on the bathroom vents and oven exhaust would help or just draw more air in from the outside via cracks (doors/windows etc).

Basement is getting pretty bad and I haven't had anything circulating. Just getting in through the intakes or something.

Smells like my house is on fire from the main level and she’s buttoned up tight.

Completely unrelated to Alberta weather, we have been having record high after record high here on Maui for the last 10 days or so. The weather is a changing world wide and it's not changing in a good way.

Yeah, it's really not.

I find here in Alberta over the last few years our season are; When it's Cold, When it's Hot, and when it's in between those kind of.

The worldwide climate has warmed noticeably the last two decades and extreme weather events are becoming more frequent partially due to atmospheric warming. Climate change (Global Warming) is happening whether you like to believe it or not.

As much as I like to shit on and poke fun of the Oilers, I don't like seeing this stuff. Very scary and I hope it clears up soon, for everyone's sake. It's not fun staying indoors all Summer because you can't breathe the air outside. Be safe all

One has to wonder how no odrs would have affected Gretzky's or many other star player's development. They spent countless hours out there honing their craft and experimenting with the puck and their edges. Many pros i've spoke with have said they've gotten a lot better skillwise and creativity through countless odr hours in the winter.

Yup, it's pretty awful and will start causing some larger societal problems if something isn't done (and not by us individually)

The people in charge won't do anything tangible and substantial until it's too late. And it may already be. The rich fat cats aren't going to sacrifice any of their profits and continue to be high emitters. The governments dictated to by rich fat cats are going to do things in their best interests. Even most people in general aren't going to sacrifice their current way of life to chip in significantly, reduce carbon footprint to ease climate change. Things like, why do so many people drive big trucks when they never haul anything. Why do we feel like we MUST go on 2-3 air travel vacations a year. Our living accommodations etc. I guess we're all to blame.

It is stupefying to think there are still individuals out there who deny the effects of humanity on the climate. How stupid do you have to be? SMDH.

I find that a great many deniers are people who will be dead before the worst case scenario unfolds, so they just don't care.

So the average man in Canada lives roughly 78-80. Its been going down I know but should still be around there.

I wonder what all these days of breathing in smoke is doing to our life expectancies. Like if we were gonna live to be 80 after last summer and this summer is it now 79 due to lung damage?

I cant imagine days of this is good for you and last summer we had several periods where it went on for days up to a week. Its not even June and already smoked out. How much more can we expect June-september

It's part stupidity, willful ignorance and part selfishness. A lot of people "in charge" of things are at least 35yr old plus. they figure they'll be long gone by the time things go to "shit" if they even believe there's merit to climate change. Kind of sad how they don't give a d*** about the future of their kids and grandkids etc.

They/we keep convincing them/ourselves that it's not a big deal because the change isn't overtly dramatically different in our workaday lives. We're a reactive society. There's not been enough of an "obvious" "disasterous" change to "react" yet. Basically things have to go to extreme sh** before people care. noone wants to sacrifice much to lower their carbon footprints. or at least very few people would make drastic changes to their daily lives.

guarantee if this keeps up the incidence of lung cancers will rise dramatically.

My wife and I were on vacation this spring and speaking with some folks for some time who were probably in their 70's and the topic got on climate change. They shook their heads in dismay when we said Yes to their question of if we believed in climate change. We didn't argue with them but simply said to come inhale forest fire smoke all summer long where we live and you might change your mind. My dad is the same way, whatever Faux News says is gospel. (Not that I like the Clinton News Network any better, they are both no better than tabloid journalism and cheerleaders for their respective political parties IMO).
