Win or lose just playing hockey is always a plus for the boys. I don't take any stock on any of these prospect games they seriously mean nothing. But just good to have hockey back. Hoping we get to see Bowen Byram tomorrow heard he had a good game today.

Pretty sure all the NHL rookies scored for the Ducks tonight. The Kings rookies looked like rookies compared to the Ducks.

Winning the Stanley Cup TWICE have something to do with it... ? :badidea:

Yes, but almost impossible NOT to draft a single impact forward in the next 10+ years (not having any top 10 picks or not) after Kopitar. You could throw darts at a draft chart and and get at least
one top 6 forward in 10+ years.

On one hand--why the actual f*** are the Ducks playing guys that are well into their NHL careers? What kind of shameless bullshit is that? Edit: LMAO from Rosen: "Several of the Ducks in tonight’s game are not eligible to win the Calder Trophy as the NHL’s top rookie."

On the other--this is a good example of why you can't just replace our NHL roster with all rookies and pretend things will be better.

Agreed. Also, no one is mentioning that several of the Kings players last night (Kupari, Fagamo, Sondergram, Bjornfot) spent substantial time last year playing in men's leagues in Europe that are at least the equivalent of the AHL.

It's only one game but fans should want to see these top prospects against stiff competition to really gauge where they are.

To be fair, many of the Kings' prospects looked like they belonged out there, and all of them were the ones with pro men's league experience. I thought Bjornfot, Kupari, and Anderson-Dolan all looked fine (especially Bjornfot), and they all have AHL or Liiga/SHL experience.

I thought Durzi looked good. Had quite a few good looks at sniping a goal.

He's definitely gonna pot some goals at the NHL level.

That's what happens when you win the cup... trading several 1st rounders (::cough too many) and finishing at the bottom of the draft each year. Not to mention not even being able to stockpile picks to either draft their guys or used to trade up.

This past year was the first year in a long stretch of years that we traded a player like Muzzin for picks and prospects.

2011
Penner for 1st rounder
Richards for 2nd rounder

2012
Jeff Carter for 1st rounder

2012
Regehr for (2) 2nd rounders

2014
Gaborik for 2nd rounder

2015
Sekera for 1st rounder

2015
Lucic for 1st rounder

2016
Lecavalier + Schenn for 3rd rounder

2017
Bishop for Cernak

I mean its bad, but if you ignore facts like you seemingly are doing, its even easier.

Schenn/Simmonds are both first liners that were drafted by the Kings. And Toff, despite how last season went, was easily a top 6 player.

I disagree. While having higher picks gives you better chances at a high end prospect, it seems that acquiring (and developing) high skill were not high priority in the Kings organization.

Dudas with a goal to open up the scoring. He's super underrated(We ranked him 23rd in the pool rankings), I think he has a chance to be an impact forward for the Kings in the future.

Constantinou with a nice shot from the point. Lizotte with the assist(?).

Expecting the Kings to sign him.

Keep in mind that the Kings are at 49 contracts right now so only one more contract is available. Questionable whether they would use that potentially valuable 50th spot for an undrafted 18 year-old but we'll see.

Constantinou going undrafted was a surprise. I think Pronman had him ranked 107th going into the draft, he definitely has a decent pedigree and might be worth that final spot.

They look a lot better today than they did yesterday.

I think a big part of the Kings not looking great yesterday was that the Ducks were rolling out an extremely veteran heavy lineup. I mean, they were icing a 24 year old who had played 50 games with the Ducks last season.
