Playing in Finland until Dec 1 makes him more attractive to us.
We can see if our prospects and 4th liner UFAs are any good. I think most of them are on a short rope and I'm not going to fret losing guys to waivers if they don't do anything in their 5-10 game stints.
Last year we thought the kid 3rd line would perform and it ended up being atrocious.
I have to imagine 3 year lockout protected deals would appeal to Carlo and McAvoy and keep their cap hits down. Conversely 2 years is a big F no from them as they don't want to hit the lockout with no contract and we don't want to do 4 and let them be UFAs ASAP.
Any fear that a new collective bargaining agreement would let guys become UFAs sooner so we can't give them deals where 21/22 is the last year in case it goes from 7 to 6 years?
Teams are saving nothing on guys being RFAs vs UFAs these days you can just lose them and get compensation.
