Yeah, I agree but I don’t know how much to read into this. Eichel is an insanely talented kid but he has an air of entitlement about him. He’s not old or accomplished enough to be mailing it in at a tournament like this.
I feel like most of the NA players are just drunk through the whole tournament

Anyone heard if Seider is back for today’s game.

Yeah, I can’t help but to think of how disheartening it must feel to have a kid with his talent that just goes in the wrong direction.

OTOH, MacKinnon has some tough years too before turning it around.

with mackinnon I label it more as impatience with fans calling him a bust cause he didn't bust out as a superstar until he turned 22.

Probably, but he also looked pretty fat for a while, and didn’t have the explosiveness that he has now.

looks like no seider again today. haven't seen any reports about how bad his injury is...

hughes playing with eichel and kreider again. looks like jack will be playing LW...fox and quinn hughes on that 5 many unit as well

I didn’t see a guy lacking the physical tools and by all accounts he’s a gym rat so I doh t it was the fact that he was out of shape. I think he finally just realized how to react to certain things he’s seeing on the ice and that he is most likely stronger and faster than everyone else. He seemed to not be able to find as much space before and I think that was just getting used to the league

Yeah, but maybe he added too much muscle? I could be out to lunch, never seen Colorado regularly really, but when it at times looked like he had taken a step back from his rookie season.

I think he is similar to Kreider in that he doesn’t process the game at a high level because he never had to. Physically he has always been able to dominate. When he reached the NHL, teams just gameplay ned to not give him enough space to get going. It’s just my opinion but that’s the way I saw it.

He also got another for real superstar to play with 85%+ of the time in Rantanen

Anyone else watching? Kakko had a one time blast that stunned the goalie and his team almost scored. Has made a few good plays with the puck early on and also drew a penalty.

1-0 Fins so far almost 15 min in.

Shots are something like 20-3 for Fins after 1, not including 2 crossbars lol. This could get ugly. Shocked its only 1-0.

Kakko had a semi breakaway, 2 on 1 and the dman took the pass and Kakko just skated right around him lol. Goalie made a nice poke check on him though.

not sure what game zach werenski is expected to join team usa, but i'm not very hopefully for fox's ice time the rest of the tourney unfortunately. unless they go to 4 units instead of 13/7. fox probably stays in the lineup but as the 7th dman

Even practicing with these guys is valuable

3-0 Win for Finns. No points for Kakko. Had a steady game, made some good plays, had a bunch of good passes and 2-3 strong plays with the puck at the net. I'd like them to try to get him the puck more. He plays down low on the PP and they rarely move it down there, it's always on the outside up high (and they went 0-8 on the PP today).

Seemed like they limited his ice time in the 3rd, but they have been doing that all tournament on the first of back to back games. They play the early game tomorrow. Last game till the elimination round starts.

Yeah for sure, it’s a great experience. Lessens the physiological affect of going from the NCAA to the NHL. He has done many good things, but I think he also have found out that you must move the puck quicker against better opponents.

Georgiev is the best goaltender on the Rangers.

Yeah, Hank is getting older. You can see it for Sweden too, new ice, new D, it’s a lot to handle for an old man.

I think he got a trick or two left in the bag for like a PO series. But doing it for a full season, it would take a toll on you.
