Peyton Manning did that when he was going to be drafted by the Jets. Turned out ok for him. Seriously though He would almost certainly go top 2-3 this year but next year he would be 3rd at best. He'll lose a year of earnings power that he'll never get back.

As fun as it is to actually say that he was trying to avoid the Jets. The real story was that he was ok being drafted by them, but wanted parcells to guarantee it. He didn't want to go 2 oa. Parcells wouldn't, especially with how many weakness that roster had.

Yea, that was the story floating around but I don't know if either confirmed it. Besides, he wasn't wrong. It's not like Manning expected Parcells to stick around after being drafted.
