What a shitty 4th quarter by the 49ers. You had Mahomes off his game entirely and you couldn’t seal the deal. That long pass to Hill was inexcusable and was all on the safety Ward. Then Jimmy G gets a wide open Sanders and overthrows him by 5 yards.
Mahomes is just like Russell Wilson when he came into the league. He will be good for years to come but teams will figure him out just like they have figured out Wilson.
 
The Rock doing the intros was a throwback to a classic WWE promo.

Also Ric Flair in the Sabra hummus commercial was great.

Teams figured out Wilson? He was in MVP conversation this season. Mahomes is the best QB in football.

Did you watch Russell Wilson tear the league apart this year? Strange way to criticize Mahomes IMO.

Shanahan, as an offensive playcaller, must be the single worst choke artist in sports history. he makes buckner and Norwood look like a peon in the world of choking.

He did the SAME thing against the Pats. I don't know which was worse.

Against the Pats you had Matt Ryan so you almost want to excuse the mistaken thinking that they can throw a little...but if you run it 3 times on the last possession you're practically guaranteed to win. Hell forge the LAST possession, This was a multi possession failure.

28-12. 9:44 left. 2 runs. Now it's 3rd and 1. Running game just got 9 yards. Get one more yard. Run it 3 more times after that and you're down under 6 mins with a 28-12 lead, right? So here coooomes the r- You get sacked for -11 yards on 3rd down. What....

Hypothetical time. Assuming they run for that first down and then run it 3 more times? The Pats took 2:24 to score next so that woulda made it 28-20 with about 3:40 left but ok, whatever. Didn't happen.

In reality the Falcons got the ball back. 28-20. 5:56 left. Can't just run it 3 times right? So what did they do so wrong? Well this is where Shanahan lays down and dies the first time.

You get to the new england 22! The...twenty...two!!!!!!! With 4:40 left!!!!!!!

This is it. Run it 3 times. Kick the FG. You win. It's over. The Pats would have to score a TD, get a 2 pt conversion, recover an onside kick AND get a FG in something like 2:20.

I never, ever thought I could see a worse performance in terms of offensive play-calling failure. To be fair I know we didn't just see worse but it damn sure might be equal.

In this one you are up by 10.

You get two possessions and throw 4 in-completions between both possessions. With THIS running game? The same one that had been gashing the chiefs all game? Forget that, with a 10 point lead and 9:52 minutes to go you threw it THREE TIMES. Forget the fact all 3 were incomplete, even if they were complete you threw...the ball...THREE...f***ing...times...with THAT lead...and this running game...holy shit.

How in the f*** do these guys get head coaching jobs?

After those disastrous 2 possessions the Chiefs score to take the lead with 2:44. So ok, y'know even if they run those three times the Chiefs very well could have still scored. it was 9:52 left and only a 10 point lead. Forgiveable. Plus Jimmy G was like 15 of 17.

You get the ball back and with 1st and 10 from the 50. 3 timeouts. 1:40 left. The KC D is dropping back, you have this beast running game perfectly capable of getting you some very manageable down and distance. You throw 4 straight incompletions!? AGAIN!?

AGAIN!?

It's not enough that you f***ed yourself against the Pats by throwing it on 3 different drives. It's not enough you choked away the lead against KC by throwing it 3 times between two possessions, you ACTUALLY somehow had one more chance, in perfect position to utilize the run and pass game with more than enough clock and you do the same shit...again.

So which is worse? Ok recency bias now aside the falcons was way worse but goddamn...
Baffling.

I was so glad for Reid but holy shit awful coaching is awful.
