Half of our success stories wouldn't have made it to the NHL on other teams. Our lack of depth and accelerating draft picks into roles they can't handle does not make us a superior drafting organization.
I don't think that is quite true - I would say all of the overagers (I know that isn't the right term but what should we say instead? Guys in their 2nd or 3rd draft?) earned their shot at the NHL and did something with it.
Not stars but they would make it on lots of teams in the NHL - Boro included, lots of people like rough'n'tumble.
This won't be a quick fix anyway we slice it - next year will be bad and most likely the season after that but we do have some hope with our young players and if it takes 2 more years of being near the bottom so be it to get some more star players.
Anyone hoping for this to turn around in a season or 2 is going to be very disappointed.
