Updated look at the standings:

Laval now a point out of a playoff spot. The teams around them have games in hand. But while Laval only has one more game this week, the teams they're battling with have another 2 each. So by Monday morning, they'll all have about the same amount of games played.

For the playoffs

Hudon - Kotkaniemi - Evans
Blandisi - Poehling - Dauphin
Veilleux - Vejdemo - jevpalov
Alain - Lynch - Cox

Ouelett - Juulsen
Olofsson - Fleury
Alzner/Leskinen - Brook

Primeau
Mcniven

It might be tough for Bouchard to bench players that gave been playing well, such as Luccini and Pezzeta.

Currently, the 3rd and 4th place team in the North Division are respectively on track for seasons of 90.41 and 83.73 points. Last year, those spots went to teams that finished with 91 and 84 points.

Thus, I estimate that for the Rocket to end up in 3rd or 4th place, they need to finish with 91 or 84 points respectively.

Given that the Rocket now have 64 points in 60 games, they need approximately 27 points in their last 16 games to finish in 3rd place, or 20 points in their last 16 games to finish in 4th place.

Laval really does control their own destiny here. They play Bingo 3 times and Utica twice. Utica plays Syracuse 3 times so there are points to be gained there too.

Binghamton 3 times
Utica 2 times
Syracuse 1 time
Toronto 2 times

Half of their remaining games are "4 points game". The 3 games vs Belleville are also critical because 3 losses could sink them.

20 points gonna be tight. 27 points is a huge task. Let's say 22 points in their last 16 should be allright.

for now that's the least of his concerns, he's got to make them first and it doesn't look good as if they don't get help I don't see how they make it. So he doesn't have to worry about a playoff roster at this point, just worry about getting some help which doesn't appear to be coming outside of Ylonen hopefully next week.

Bouchard might want to play Ylonen tonight since we have so many injuries....... if healthy of course

he's injured so he won't play tonight.

Some AHL movement going on.

We know Vegas purchased the San Antonio Rampage and will move them to Vegas next year. Vegas was affiliated with the Chicago Wolves, which would leave them without an NHL affiliate. At the same time, the Rampage were affiliated with St. Louis. And this would leave them without an AHL affiliate.

The Florida Panthers are affiliated to Springfield Thunderbirds. However, as of next year Florida will affiliate themselves with the Chicago Wolves. And the Thunderbirds, being left without an NHL affiliate, just signed a 5-year agreement to be St. Louis' AHL affiliate.

So:
2019-20: Vegas (NHL) > Chicago Wolves (AHL)
2019-20: St. Louis (NHL) > San Antonio Rampage (AHL)
2019-20: Florida (NHL) > Springfield Thunderbirds (AHL)

2020-21: Vegas (NHL) > Vegas (AHL)/Formerly San Antonio Rampage
2020-21: St. Louis (NHL) > Springfield Thunderbirds (AHL)
2020-21: Florida (NHL) > Chicago Wolves (AHL)

I wanted to know when and if Montreal would be able to assign guys like Hudon/Evans/Alzner/Ouellet to Laval when MTL doesnt play... in order to help with the playoff push. After taking a closer to look at both schedules it might not happen at all until April.

Montreal plays pretty much every other day which means no one can play for Laval otherwise they would play every single day... which is not happening obviously.

It could happen if someone like Hudon is scratched and goes to Laval to play a game, and then gets re-called. Montreal has a stretch from March 13th to March 23rd where they will be home. Laval plays at home March 13th and March 14th, so we could see it happen. On March 18th they play in Hershey, March 20th in Utica and March 21st in Binghamton none of these games are too far off from Montreal so it could happen too.

After the Habs' season is done, Laval still has 3 games left to play, so that's at least 3 games for Hudon/Evans/AlznerOuellet/etc... let's just hope they are still in the playoff hunt by then.

Depending on what Bergevin decides, Laval does have an important stretch with 3 games in 3 nights on April 2-3-4... Habs play on April 1st and 4th. When it comes down to it, they might just as well decide to send everyone down for these games.

Justin Woods has been released from his PTO. He didn't get a single game in. Marcotte says that this must mean that Fleury's injury is minor and should be back. He also sees it as a possibility that Juulsen may be closer to returning.

Laval isn't playing before Wednesday.

After the TDL, teams are only allowed 4 recalls. So they can't send someone down and up like they could have before the deadline.

There are emergency recalls that don't count as one of the four. But those, as indicated, are for emergencies, for example a player in the NHL roster gets hurt.

Right now, Montreal has used 3 of the 4 recalls. Evans, Ouellet and Alzner. Hudon is on an emergency recall, so he doesn't count. But if they send him down and call him back up so he gets a game in Laval, then his next recall won't be emergency, so it would count as one of the four. And Vejdemo was also recalled on an emergency basis with Tatar out.

So Montreal only has one recall left the rest of the year.

Wasn't Alzner also an emergency recall?

But if you send them down the Habs would have less than 20 healthy players on their roster which means they can be recalled for emergencies anyway, no?

Like Vegas for exemple have already called up Roy and Pirri twice since Feb 24th, along with Quinney and Whitecloud.

Evans was called up on trade deadline day, I don't think he actually counts among the 4 recalls?

According to CapFriendly, all 3 of Vejdemo, Hudon and Alzner are on emergency recalls.

Only Ouellet is a true recall

Only Ouellet is a true recall

Evans was called up after the 3PM deadline, when the 4 recalls goes into effect:
Jake Evans Transaction History - CapFriendly - NHL Salary Caps.png

Alzner: on the February 29th, he was placed on the roster from emergency recall. Meaning they used one of the four recalls on him:

So Ouellet, Evans, and Alzner are regular recalls. In Alzner's case, he was made a regular recall later.

Vejdemo and Hudon are still emergency recalls.

Yea. That could be a possibility. Thanks for pointing out Vegas and their recalls. I don't know the CBA rules all that much. So it is odd that all of those recalls by Vegas were regular recalls and it's a total of 6.
