Yeah, seriously makes me wonder what the heck we were doing wrong that players leave here to flourish once they have moved on.
Here's an idea....they are playing with better players now?

Was going through some stats this morning and came across Jeff Carter's 26 goal 2012-13 season where he only played in 48 games.
Shesh.
Yah, and had Kopitar not played like utter dogshit that post-season, we may have 3 cups right now.

Maybe you should go back and rewatch the playoffs..Yah, and had Kopitar not played like utter dogshit that post-season, we may have 3 cups right now.
Brown was playing with a knee injury.Chicago vs LA were on a collision course. Brown definitely did not have his best playoffs that year either, but hard for me to point to the players as opposed to losing against a good Chicago team (this was their first year with Hossa I believe).
Yeah, that one really seemed to take Mike down a few notches and he never really recovered from there. Also worth noting that Mike Richards had a damn good performance that season as well and was nearly a point per game player in the playoffs. And then cheap shot from Bolland would give Richards yet another concussion.
Might have been the beginning of his medicating to deal with it too. or worsened the habit.Yeah, that one really seemed to take Mike down a few notches and he never really recovered from there.

Kopitar didnt put up numbers but he literally shut down all the top lines.. Unless you think Teows and his 3 pts got the better of Kopi??
He came back too early and scored a goal in the last game of that series. Two concussions in a year, self medication, downward spiral.Might have been the beginning of his medicating to deal with it too. or worsened the habit.
No thats not the definition of it, the secondary players won that series for the Hawks. Not Teows, Hossa or Kane just like Kopitar, Carter, Doughty didnt lose it for the Kings. That isn't your #1c's responsibility, it's a bonus. Kopitar did not play well in those playoffs.
And yes, Toews did get the better of Kopitar in that series. He won it and the Cup. That is the very definition of it.
yup... Bickell was the difference in that series and he crushed us .. He set us 2 of those and had 7 pts in the seriesDidn’t Kane score a hat trick and the OT winner against the Kings in Game 5?
Don't forget how close game 7 against the Sharks was.You can't lose Game 4 at home with Keith out of the lineup.
But yeah, the Bolland cheap shot was a real crusher. They weren't as good that year though without Mitchell and then concussions to Stoll and Richards in the playoffs. Muzzin wasn't Muzzin yet, either.
They could have lost to the Blues if Penner doesn't score one of the most ridiculous goals in playoff history with the blue line buzzer beater.
Maybe you should go back and rewatch the playoffs..

Some of the greatest playoff hockey of the past decade.. That 4 year stretch was the best I've seen since the 80sDon't forget how close game 7 against the Sharks was.
I remember clearly... All of those series were literally one lucky bounce away from having new winners and losersYou must of forgotten that all of our HF group was convinced he was injured...until he came out to the media after the series and said he wasn't. Not sure of anyone who wasn't shocked at that....

He didnt, he just didnt score enough. big difference. Had that 70s line not played the way they did, we wont even be talking about this. Then why are you arguing my point about Kopitar playing like shit?

Sutter deployed Kopitar's line as a shutdown line versus Toews' line, while the 70s line was put in a position to exploit the Hawks 2nd line... and it worked.. what no one expected/saw coming was for Bryan Bickell to pace the Hawks that series as a 3rd liner.. The guy had 17 pts in that cup run and 7 pts for that series.
