Team looked solid tonight. Pretty fun for a 0-0 game.

Anderson looks steady. Makes good reads.

He sure has poise. Kind of shocked how often he jumps up in the play. Smart and confident. I think as Regulate pointed out, he'll have to get stronger for the physical rigors and handling big forwards,
but one play, he took out Matthews and pretty handily. Pretty impressive.

Some **** fine Terry Murray hockey tonight from the boys.

I'm in the minority here who likes the Leafs but I think signing Tavares was a mistake and I don't think Nylander will win anything, anywhere. They gotta offload him for a defenseman over the summer. Good luck with that cap hit though.

If Toronto is getting locked down by our squad and the Sharks good luck getting past Boston. As far as Tavares karma is a B..., he screwed the Islanders out of assets and as far as I am concerned I hope he never tastes success in the playoffs. I think the Leafs transformed from a decently balanced team a couple years ago to a fantasy team that doesn't have much grit. Trading for Cliffy is a nod to that, but I believe its too little too late. Despite Andersens best efforts this Leafs team is fragile.

For a 0-0 game it was pretty entertaining. Kempe had a weird game tonight. there were times of good and there were times of bad, like the 4 on 2 where he passed it into the skates of Lizzote. I've now come to expect his bad passes as part of his game. fun to beat the leafs anyway we can.

I agree. Tavarez has looked average at best in a Leafs jersey. Nylander's contract might be a juicy trade bait for a team looking for a semi intelligent fragile player who can give you 35+ goals a year. God knows that could have helped at the trade deadline when they could have oh, I don't know, fixed that inadequately woeful defense that tampon bay will shred in round one.. if they get there.

Quick was outstanding. I think Petersen adds some genuine competition but it also means Quick isn’t going to play quite as much. He’s going to benefit from a drop in minutes and also has less pressure with a backup he can be confident in. As is, I’m pretty happy with our goaltending for next year now. I’d go as far as saying that I don’t even want Quick traded at this point as it seems we have a nice balance in net. Trading him in the off season would be counter productive... next year should be about passing the torch.

Kempe is my favourite King to watch right now. I backed him through his rough spell and could have been accused of being a bit of a fan boy (it’s the hair) but he’s really starting to play consistently well. I want to see him play with Vilardi regularly and I really think he will start scoring more. That’s definitely his next step, more goals (which applies to most of the team).

I’m still upset that Amadio didn’t put away his shootout goal. How do you assume it’s a gimme when you haven’t scored in almost 40 games and you only have six goals on the season? He started out the season with two goals in four games. He then scored four in the following sixty games.

I want him to succeed, I swear I do, but I think if we sent him to Ontario, he wouldn’t be picked up on waivers. I just don’t think he has what it takes to play in the NHL.

Add Grunsdtrom who Kempe had some chemistry with earlier this year and we may have the makings of a good 2nd/3rd line and a 2nd PP unit.

Still surprised he wasn't moved at the deadline....what a 'piece' he could have been for a playoff team with questionable goaltending. Hello Florida?

Quick is only being moved if he wants to be IMO. I think the “Core 4” have earned that respect to stay until their contracts are up.

If Blake is willing to give Carter that respect like Friedman said, it’s definitely the case for Kopi, Doughty, Brown and Quick.

When Carter comes back, what do we look like?

Iafallo - Kopitar - Brown
Frk - Vilardi - Kempe
Moore - Lizotte - Wagner
Lews - Carter - Prokhorkin

Been really impressed with Kempe lately.

I can’t stand Toronto but they were without their top two defenders tonight.

So I read this last night. Took time to ponder. Didn't help.:)
The game ending in regulation/OT 0-0, so not sure what your point is?

How would the 2 missing D have changed things?

I do like a future of Roy, Anderson, as part of the blue line. Roy is really developing well.

I think it was Liljgren he blew right by earlier in the game showing off his speed. He's got some wheels, no doubt.

His SO goal last night was filthy. No questioning he has the skill, just needs that consistency.

Ive been a fan of kempe even when most were down on him. If he can start capitalizing on some of his chances he will be a powerhouse.
Not many guys have the ability to make nhl defensemen look like pylons.
Even though turning him into a center didnt work out, I think his game has benefitted from it.
He learned to play a responsible two way game, dropped any habit of floating, stays aggressive without taking penalties, and learned to make use of open ice especially in the neutral zone.
He is one of the only players that has benefitted from being Nick Shored by the coaches. Tough love, defense first is something a player like him needed. Guys like Vilardi dont need it and should be given a leash to play creative and encouraged to take risks.
