It's pretty crazy how mobile Petersen's core/trunk is even when he's got both pads perpendicular to the ice. You can see it with the poke check on Gaudreau; he doesn't tip over even though he reaches way out over his hips and that allows him to be ready for a potential rebound.

He's not as explosive as Quick was in his prime, but his fundamentals are rock solid.
