Why are the special teams not so special? With 3 PP goals last night, the Kings are 27th now..and 29th in PK.
The Kings are only 8 points behind the 8th seed now. Crazy. If..a big if...the Kings were middle of the pack, 13-16 th in both
PP and PK, that would most assuredly be enough to muster 4-5 more wins and they would be 8th in the conference?
Granted, that takes a little more skill and better execution - understandably - and better coaching. C'mon, Sturm and Yawney!
But, just food for thought. Would't it be nutts, if the Kings are 2-4 points out of a playoff spot at the deadline and they
hold onto players, they were planning to deal? I cannot see the Kings as buyers. The recent resurgence can get them closer
and perhaps adding Vilardi in a month or 2, would help propel the team further. Not that I expect him to make a significant
contribution - but on the other hand, he may well make the team better. Frk and Prokhorkin have helped the offense
and I don't think that's a fluke. Pro may get to 30 pts and Frk could certainly pop 15 goals. That can go a long way to putting up a few more wins.
Adrian Kempe has stepped up too.
AND, Quick is actually playing closer to Quick of yesteryear, than last year.
