I thought the hit was ok, pretty much as Fox assessed it during the game. He certainly was head hunting and if anything his head was only hit at all because he cowered away from the hit. Had he braced properly for the hit it would have been fine.

Why are the special teams not so special? With 3 PP goals last night, the Kings are 27th now..and 29th in PK.
The Kings are only 8 points behind the 8th seed now. Crazy. If..a big if...the Kings were middle of the pack, 13-16 th in both
PP and PK, that would most assuredly be enough to muster 4-5 more wins and they would be 8th in the conference?

Granted, that takes a little more skill and better execution - understandably - and better coaching. C'mon, Sturm and Yawney!
But, just food for thought. Would't it be nutts, if the Kings are 2-4 points out of a playoff spot at the deadline and they
hold onto players, they were planning to deal? I cannot see the Kings as buyers. The recent resurgence can get them closer
and perhaps adding Vilardi in a month or 2, would help propel the team further. Not that I expect him to make a significant
contribution - but on the other hand, he may well make the team better. Frk and Prokhorkin have helped the offense
and I don't think that's a fluke. Pro may get to 30 pts and Frk could certainly pop 15 goals. That can go a long way to putting up a few more wins.

Adrian Kempe has stepped up too.

AND, Quick is actually playing closer to Quick of yesteryear, than last year.

I haven’t watched any of the games lately because the holidays, but damn, who knew Frk would suddenly just start scoring! Glad Porkins is still continuing great plays.

Actually, I think our situation is ideal for making trades at the deadline. We are competitive enough and some of the players that might be trade fodder are playing well enough, that it helps elevate their trade value.

I don't think there's any need to trade Carter or Quick, but there might be some teams interested. I say there is no need as their cap hits are irrelevant since we won't be spending to the cap for the foreseeable future and if you look at what they actually will get paid they are worth it.

Toffoli has rebounded to some extent.

Injuries have basically eliminated any trade value Forbort or Lewis may have had. I suppose the same is true for Martinez although I didn't see him getting traded this year even if he hadn't been injured.

I could see someone like Hutton or Ryan being jettisoned for a pick.

Clifford as well, although I see him being retained.
