Really short turnaround. Czechs had a good tournament.

That plays into it, but the US had an even shorter turnaround in the Canada game, and it didn't seem to affect them too much. Czechs did have a good tournament for sure, but they're putting up a dud today, no doubt about it.

Have to say I've liked Pesan for most of this tournament. But I thought he could've handled the Canada game better and now he looks even worse here. There has to be something you can say after things start going the other teams way. It looks like he's given up too

crazy how markus naslund got to 13 goals
Näslund played with the best center and playmaker we ever had in the history of Swedish hockey (and in the history of WJC). It was insane how dominant Forsberg was and Näslund was a great player and goal scorer as well so... No, its not crazy. =)

He'd better be yelling at them in the changing rooms and telling them to get it together!

If you're not good enough, you're not good enough. But at least try. If you can't be bothered to try, then go home and do something else.

he still had to flee the NCAA to CHL to score goals

Why is that funny? He was a freshman in the NCAA on a stacked team. So everything he’s done in UNited states national development team and the WHL and the world juniors doesn’t matter because he didn’t light the world on fire as a freshman in college? Stop it

50 goals for the development program and the US record for a world juniors is nothing to sneeze at.

How is that good when you let in 7 goals in 2 consecutive games?
yeah it's pretty low standards if this type of performance is considered good. Shouldn't even bother showing up next year if you're gonna pat yourself on the back after back to back ass kickings. Unfortunately too many teams in this tournament are just happy getting participation trophies every year and don't put enough pressure on their federations to improve and raise expectations.
