True, but he's been leaky all tournament long. Easily been the worst goaler of the four big teams, but just because he's bad now doesn't mean he will be a bad player. Goalers tend to develop in very weird stages, some develop much later than others. Likewise with others developing earlier as well. For example, Subban was awful for Canada during the WJC, but he has still turned out to be a good prospect. Same with Allen, one tournament doesn't determine a career.

I'll try not to over-analyze too much here, but the USA looked a little more like a team trying not to lose than a team trying to win today. This is what happens when the pressure of being a favorite (if not THE favorite) is put on you. Team Canada and Team Russia and now Team USA have to deal with this every year now. It sucks, but in a way it also shows you've made it, program-wise.

Wow Sweden might actually be the favorites over Canada.

Canada's always a contender, but I'm pretty sure Makar is the only top 10 pick on the roster. It's a solid and deep team at every position, but it doesn't have the same legit junior star calibre it often has. Our highest scoring players are 9th and 14th in tournament scoring. Sweden could easily be seen as the favourites (they have 3 former top 10 picks + Dahlin for comparison).
