I've only seen about 5 mins of the second so far but from what I've seen it looks like Sweden is hanging on for dear life while the Americans buzz. Is this accurate or just that stretch?

Do you expect him to just let go of his stick? Like I said, whether or not it was on purpose does not matter.

Not really what I was alluding to but alright. Getting your stick caught on another player is not necessarily a hold.

That's good news for him, because he has still been the best player in the tournament.

That’s not true. He’s been mostly underwhelming with moments of dominance, I’d say several players have had a better tourney.

Prior to the last 5 minutes of the second, the Swedes were playing better. They have the bulk of the dangerous chances.

Not really, that must have been right after the Swedish goal. Overall the game is pretty even.

Americans with high pressure the last 5 minutes of the period. Otherwise it's been a bit back and forth with a slight edge to the Americans. Feels like they have one more gear than Sweden at points.

Hanging on for dear life kind of misses out on the fact that they're up a goal

I am sitting pretty much rinkside and can say for certain that he didn't squeeze or hold the stick. Swede couldn't have changed the outcome of that in any way since he didn't actually hold him

USA needs to get more pucks to the net. Less perimeter play

Someone like Max Jones is probably going to score the goal

Canada has like 33 mill but I get your point.

Canada's actually around 36-37 mill and Sweden 10 mill now, both increases more due to immigration than natural birth.
Finland is the most impressive per capita at hockey IMO with around 5.5 mill.

Wrong game for the USA to suddenly lose their offense this tournament.

So by your logic being up by a goal means a team can't be on it's heels being outplayed badly?

In sports it's all about who capitalises. Teams with lots of chances but unable to convert can end up getting frustrated and making more mistakes, compounding the problems, especially at this age level

On another note Ryan Poehling and Kailer Yamamoto have been very disappointing

Nylander has to utilize his amazing shot, stop making passes all the time.

So few? Wow. Thanks for info. Then Canada probably is the best hockey federation looking at the string teams they always got

Yeah, 33 million.

Well, it's fairly common knowledge that Canada has kind of been the number one nation in hockey since well.......................the game started.
