Moment of silence for the poor self-hating Finns here.

But yeah, the offense looks bad. But the way it looks bad is a clear indicator of a huge weakness in the Finnish team that everyone knew even before the tournament: weak centers. Ergo, no real offensive structure.

Finland is still a beast hockey country, and this team has plenty.
The team is filled with good individuals and future NHLers. They just don't mesh into a good team. Agree on the C thing.

Witnessing a finnish tradition, making opponents goalie look godlike.

Looks like Ahokas put Vesalainen - Räsänen - Tolvanen together even on ES. Curious to see if for good.

Criticism is the farthest from 'self hating'.
They haven't played well - you see the kind of comments seen here on bad play from other teams fans as well.

Kuokkanen to the 3rd line thanks. Vesalainen-Räsänen-Tolvanen was great for the short time they were together last year.

I know, most comments have been great. I'm teasing.

But my point is, to my eyes the confused offense is mostly a symptom of Cs that can't keep up, let alone drive play.

I am willing to see what Kuokkanen is able to do on the wing... he seriously can't be this bad, it must be something to do with him being unconformtable as a center. He has played in the NHL this season ffs.

Yeah, I feel zero pity for Finnish fans. They've developed enough talent in the last couple years to fuel their National Team for the next 20.

Well none of the 1st line have contributed goals, but he can be a physical forechecker.

Maybe take Kuokkanen away for the rest of the game.

I agree, but I have higher expectations of Vesalainen than of Kuokkanen. Tolvanen hasn't been amazing, but atleast he is shooting and he has made some nice individual efforts. Sooner or later he will score.

Finnish tv focusing ridiculously much to Tolvanen

Think they have done these in-depth interviews with multiple players, Heiskanen had one last game and i think Jokiharju before that.

I'm not entirely sure if this metaphor really translates to english. Hopefully I am wrong

Just a play on the monkey on someone's back thing. This dry streak has been going on for so long that it feels like no goal will break this team out of it.

Finns are slowing down the speed. It looks so easy to defend against is. It is the system finnish teams use that makes all players look so bad. The finnish system does not work on small ice.
