RIP Fugu ϶(°o°)ϵ
He backed in on the blueline before the play happened. Gotta stand up at the line a bit.
They teach you to stand up at the blueline in the middle of the ice with nobody behind you? There's no angle for him to play, and if he gets walked the offensive player is potentially in clear.

His job is to contain and delay while the backside pressure (which should have been there) is applied.

Not stand still, but don't completely give up the line either. Close the gap, dude.

He got burned in any case. No excuse really.

They've spent days or weeks preparing for this. The angle is likely as good as it's going to get.

You are likely correct.

However, you hope reality supercedes preperation. Just zooming out makes it better.

The puck gets somewhat lost in the snow anyway.

I remember reading it was USAhockey that wanted the outdoor game and it be against Canada.
Canada and the US shouldn't even be in the same group this year.

Your gripe should be against USA hockey and their $$ grab not the IIHF.

That doesn't surprise me in the least. USA probably figured they'd lose to Canada either way, might as well get more money out of it with this shit show.
