Sometimes Bragin doesn't stop surprise me... Why the heck would you take Svechnikov and put him on the 4th line and also don't give any powerplay what so ever. The guy at 17 already has the best shot in the entire squad along with Sokolov...

Svechnikov hasn't progressed this season like at all. He was better, than Tolvanen last year, this yeah it's not even close in the Finn's favor. Of course, he had an injury, but still.

Lol. Do you even watch his games? This tournament he plays on 4th line and doesn't even get any powerplay time.

Strong cycle play from Russia. Switzerland was hanging on for dear life...

sokolov has no brains. no svechnikov on pp is a head-scratcher, agree. he looks good, such a smart player.
what is between kostin and his helmet? what all the fuss is about? the guy is crazy.

Reminds me of 2013 team - lots of supposedly good players who don't deliver (including our own Andrey). Even 3rd place would be a great achievement

Svechnikov definitely needs more ice time. But Sokolov is pure garbage. He shouldn't even be on the team.

As those last 2 minutes, I expected the whole game to look like.

Even if the late goal hurts, as a swiss supporter you got to be very happy with the effort so far.

Wüthrich is such a technically sound GK, reminds me a bit of Martin Gerber. Not the biggest goalie, but calm and focused.

Russia really amped it up in the latter half of the second. They still seem a little out of sync, however.

How is Russia fielding such a terrible team? I don't get, massive country, big hockey tradition and this year the team is beyond bleak. Swiss are arguably outplaying him, no idea why Russia were considered favorites here considering how bad they were the other day.

This is the same Russian generation that won the U-17s. Unfortunately, our forward 'elite talents' of the 1998 (Abramov, Sokolov, Rubtsov, Popugayev) haven't developed worth shit since then.
