4 hits 9 strikeouts and Pivetta is pulled in 5 and 2/3... AFTER he let Pivetta hit with 1st and 3rd and 2 outs. Hes a ****ing moron

He heard it from the crowd too. I didn't really have that much of a problem this time since Pivetta had thrown 97 pitches, but yeah, if you're even thinking of pulling him (which we can assume Kapler always is) then you might as well just pinch hit for him.

good game from Franco, CH. Don't have a problem pulling Pivetta at 97 pitches, the pen needs to be better. Morgan, Garcia did their job at least.

Tbh not sure what the issue with pitching decisions was today. Seemed pretty ho-hum and logical.

agreed as Pivetta seems to have a drop in velocity the 3rd time around. Was a heck of an outing for him though. Going to be very interesting to see if he can build off this one.

Pivetta has a knack for imploding in the middle innings, if he even makes it that far. Getting 5.2 shutout innings out of him is already a massive win. He had 97 pitches, which is a standard amount at any point in the year, so that certainly doesn't seem grounds for frustration. Pivetta is not someone who has earned a ton of trust anyway.

Guy on 1st, 2 outs, going through the 3rd time, Kapler made a lefty on lefty move against Bour, one of their few competent hitters with power. He even maybe learned something and didn't burn Morgan for just that batter and let him go another full inning. Every reliever pitched an inning+, and it was clean and textbook. If he took out Pivetta in the 5th with 84 pitches to pinch hit, everyone would've been angry too. He gave him the 6th with a leash, and Pivetta left with a rare confident outing.

I think taking Pivetta out was the right move. And Morgan struck the guy out on 3 pitches then went 1-2-3 in the 7th. He was at 96 pitches with a lefty coming up. I'm fine with it.

I am pro Kapler. He's really made one bad mistake and it was Nola. The bullpen thing somebody else f***ed up and he had to take the fall for it. He's a gamer and truly wants to win and I respect that
