Having a quieter game so far today, but not in a bad way. Had an end to end rush in the first period but didn’t get too close to the net before shooting.

I’d say he got caught pinching but someone was covering for him, he was near the top of the circles (he seems to like being around there a lot) and got caught flat footed as a BC forward got the puck and skated past him, he turned and was the 3rd man back and knocked the puck away from the BC player from behind just inside his own blue line. It really reminded me of McDonaghs smaller mistakes during his rookie season where he’d make them and it wouldn’t matter because he’d catch someone and make the play to negate his mistake before anything could happen.

Out there for a goal against on the PK, not exactly his fault but he could’ve made a few plays prior to the goal better

Miller already seems like a/the go-to guy on defense. Out there on the PP, PK, out after a goal against, out right now with BC’s goalie pulled and already on the PK to protect a one goal lead

Sick news on Miller and how fast he has found his spot in the NCAA.

I really like this pick. I think we are underrating the importance of size on the blueline. Up front its more or less better to not have a lot of size, but I am not at all sold on that this is the case on the blueline. The game is so fast and there is so much havoc defensively that you of course must have guys that can skate, but nobody can still control things and a physically gifted D 6'3-4 have a lot of advantages over a D that is like 5'11. In front of the net. Going into the corners.

I think Miller had a hockey stick curve like development last season and many lost him in the shuffle if they followed him closely early because he picked up a lot of the D game as the season went on. In the U18 WJC when I saw him it was impressive how he could make very poised plays in all areas more or less in relations to the best of the best of his peers.

I also like the fact a lot that I think it will be hard for us to rush this kid. Will we really see a point in yanking him from the NCAA next season?? Seems unlikely. At least two years in the NCAA in a big role is exactly what this kid needs. Preferably 3 or 4 but that is maybe hoping for too much.

Very good chance we see both Miller and Keane at the WJC this year. That would be great for their development!

Would be great if they were paired together. I really like the athletic build of these two guys. Barrie has a lot of firepower up-front this year, so I expect Keane to post some quality numbers.

this kid is a future 1st pair stud.

another year at wisco and hell be ready.

physical specimen. gonna be a gem.
A lot to be excited for about this kid. He's an athlete, probably would prefer to go pro rather than being in school. Think he will be here next year.

Doubt he goes pro next year.

Miller is a great talent but let's be real, he hasn't been playing D all that long.

There's also a log jam at LD in the organization.

It's best if he stays at Wisconsin and develops with Granato for a couple seasons.

I'd wager he does two years, maybe three, at Wisconsin.

Nothing wrong with patience. Didn't Stepan, McD, Skjei and CK join the pros (either in the AHL or NHL) after at least their third years in college?
