AND WE HAVE A WINNER! The Vancouver Canucks have won the draft lottery and now hold the 1st Overall Selection in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft.

The Buffalo Sabres will select 2nd overall.

- Taking calls on 2nd overall. Honestly either looking to either acquire a blue chip top D or move down a MAX of 4 spots.

- Need to move Beaulieu and/or Bogosian (willing to retain $2M on Bogo). Price reasonable.

- Looking to move either Girgensons or Larsson.

Columbus is looking to trade Brandon Dubinsky, the rights to Boone Jenner, the rights to Jack Johnson, and any prospect listed on my block plus Kale Howarth or Kole Sherwood for an upgrade to my second or third line center. Will not move either of my top two picks in the draft .

:bruins taking last calls on Krejci and Carlo.

Open to moving Krejci for futures or Carlo + futures top-4 RD. Also could package both for a top-4 RD if they are good enough. Open to many options so PM me.

:bruins Receives: J Faulk, TVR, 2018 Car 6th round

:canes Receives: D Krejci, B Carlo, 2018 Bos 4th

Confirmed. Tough to lose a key piece in Krejci who has been a huge help for our success, but after adding Schenn and Domi, we thought it would be better to upgrade our D and make room to sign Nash. Carlo will be missed but adding Faulk stacks our top-4 and TVR can replace Carlo's minutes well.

Bruins probably done trading. Happy to add three talented and young/in their prime players in Domi, Schenn and Faulk without hurting the future outlook.

If someone wants Holden's rights or a prospect for a pick we are open to that though as we only have 4 picks in the draft.

SABRES ACQUIRE NIEMELAINEN, DRAFT PICK FROM OILERS

22 June 2018

DALLAS, TX - The Buffalo Sabres announced today that the team has acquired defenseman Markus Niemelainen and a 5th round pick in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft from the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for forward Zemgus Girgensons.

Niemelainen (6/8/98, 6' 6", 205 lbs) tallied a goal and 2 assists in 42 games with HPK in Finnish Liiga. He previously played two seasons with the Saginaw Spirit of the Ontario Hockey League. The Kuopio, Finland native was drafted in the third round, 63rd overall by the Edmonton Oilers in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft.

Girgensons was drafted by the Sabres in 2012 and played in 350 games with the team, putting up 100 points.

The 2018 NHL Entry Draft continues this weekend at the American Airlines Center in Dallas.
