Miller as a 4C is odd.
I wonder if we're gonna be willing to split Kuch and Stammer. The over-passing thing was awful in Game 1. Hopefully Cooper hammers that point home with them and we see guys forcing pucks on net.

I think he had worse games in the playoffs, and also got himself demoted. This is his history though. He finds himself in doghouses more than the average bear.

If they really wanted to send a message from game 1 then everyone should be the 4C.

Miller defensively leaves a lot to be desired. I dont think its a good idea to put Miller with Stamkos and Kuch again. They can be effective when on but when off wow is it bad.
Miller is too slow for those two, would take away from what they do best which is pressure with speed. All our LW seem to be the slowest players on their lines. Stamkos - Kucherov can play a speed game but they tend to play a bit slower and get a lot of offensive zone draws so Miller or Killorn would work there. Point uses speed more and if you pair him and Palat you have two great defensive forwards as well. I think Joseph with Cirelli and Gourde would be the best but not sure Cooper would have trust in them.

Demoting Miller is a first step but when will Stamkos be asked to take some blame? He wasn’t any better than Miller IMO.

I am gravely alarmed at how we acted after the loss last night. It sounds to me we had a better game and just couldn't buy a goal. If that's how they're going to be about the most minimal of adversity after years of being wrecked by injuries then oh my God....
In my many years I have not found many valid reason for Cooper's termination. I was vocal about him being fired at the time of the Drouin fiasco because our top line chemistry was trash, TKO didn't work anymore and somehow we couldn't get our 3rd overall pick on the ice when we scored a goal or less in a season where we scored a goal or less something like 17 times with Bishop being lights out most nights. It's possible my alarm is unwarranted. But someone (hopefully Coop) needs to slap Stamkos HARD and tell him to stop whining.
Your move Coop. I have long since defended you and judging by the way the presser went your guys look like they're about 5 more games of this from hitting rock bottom. If that happens you're going to lose the room. There's no going back after that. I have faith but your players need to as well.
I think it's almost more damning that I didn't see the game. I cannot fathom any context to warrant the "someone killed my dog" response we saw to the press
I could be wrong but that body language just looked toxic to me

When Kucherov is our worst player, and Stamkos is about our 4th worse, we don't stand much chance.

I don't understand why any of our great lines can't ever keep up their chemistry/production past one season.
